SEMI- DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN PRACTICAL RESEARCH 2

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
1. identify the techniques in data processing.
2. distinguish the different procedures in presentation and interpretation of data.
3. interpret the table following the suggested guidelines and procedures.
II. Subject Matter
A. Topic : Presentation and Interpretation of Data
B. References : 1. Learner’s Module: Practical Research II, Quarter 2 Week 4 & 5
Pages 16 to 25
2. Other Learning Resources: Internet
C. Materials : Laptop, PowerPoint Presentation, Internet Connection
III. Procedures
A. Preparation : Greetings
Prayer
Checking of attendance
B. Motivation : The teacher will give 10 true or false questions and the students will
answer using the online tool, quizziz.
1. Data collection is a master plan specifying the methods and procedures
for collection and analyzing needed information. (False)- Research Design
2. Research design is a process of collecting information from all the relevant sources
to find answers to the research problem, test the hypothesis and evaluate the
outcomes. (False) Data Collection
3. Data collection tools refer to the devices/instruments used to collect
data depending on the research design and methodologies employed in your
research study. (True)
4. Interview is a method of gathering information through a tool that consists of a set
of questions and prompts to receive an answer from people to whom it is
administered. (False)- Questionnaire
5. Tests provide a way to assess subjects knowledge and capacity to apply this
knowledge into new situations. (True)
6. Standardized Test may not be scored uniformity. It is administered to a certain set
of people. (False) Non- standardized test
7. A criterion referenced tests are constructed to determine whether the respondents
have attained the mastery of a skill or knowledge area. Examples are NAT, SHS
Exit Assessment, quarterly or periodical exams. (True)
8. Data collection is a major component of research. Neglecting to clarify the
collection procedure would result in acquiring inaccurate data that will make you
research study invalid. (True)
9. Google drive is a free online form that allows the researcher to construct,
administer, and analyze surveys. (False) google form
10. This is a data collection method by which information on a phenomenon is
gathered through observation. (True)
B. Presentation: The teacher presents the connection of the lesson from the activity.
The teacher will ask questions relating to data presentation and
interpretation.
Look at the latest figures gathered by the Philippine Statistics Authority
from a conducted census.

How is the data presented? If you will be asked to present again the data,
how will you arrange and label it?
Answer: It can be presented in tabular, textual, and graphical methods.
C. Discussion
The teacher will be discussing the techniques in data processing, presentation, and
interpretation of data.
►Editing is a process wherein the collected data are checked.
►Coding is a process wherein the collected data are categorized and organized.
► Tabulation is a process of arranging data.
After editing, coding, and tabulating the data is to present them into graphical or visual
presentation called non-prose materials.
►A. Data Tables or Tabular Presentation

B.

Graphical

Presentation
►Graphs- focuses on how a change in one variable relates to another. Graphs use bars, lines, circles,
and pictures in representing the data.

Types of Graphs
1) Line Graph 2) Bar Graph

3)

Clustered Bar Graph

4) Pie Chart

5) Histogram 6) Scatter Plot

7) Pictogram

E. Generalization
The teacher will ask the following questions:
Can you differentiate the three data processing namely, editing, coding, and tabulation?
How is the gathered data in a research shall be presented?
IV. Evaluation:
Interpret the pie graph and pictogram shown below.
Figure 4 reveals the distribution of respondents according to language spoken at home.

Ninety or 89 percent speaks Iloko which represents majority of the respondents. Ten or 10 percent of

them were able to communicate in Tagalog while 1 or 1 percent of the respondents interacts in

English language.
