A DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATH 1

SCHOOL: GRADE LEVEL: I-1

I. OBJECTIVES

After series of activities, the Grade 1 pupils will be able to tells the month in a
year in the right order at 75% level of proficiency.

A. Content Standards
Demonstrates understanding of time and non-standard units of length, mass and
capacity.

B. Performance Standards
Is able to apply knowledge of time and non-standard measures of length, mass,
and capacity in mathematical.

C. Learning Competency
Tells the days in a week; months in a year in the right order. (M1ME-Iva-1)

at school?
The days that we come here to school are on;
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and
Friday.

But how about the days that we don’t have to
come here at school?
It is on the day of Saturday and Sunday.
Very good! It is on the day of Saturday and

Ma’am, there are seven days in a week.

of the week? (Students will say it in chorus)

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,


Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

3. Motivation

When is your birthday?


When is Christmas celebrated?
When is our town and barangay fiesta
celebrated? (The pupils will answer the questions and
share their own experiences.)

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
Today we will be discussing about “Months of
the year”

I will read you a story about a Grade 1 pupil


named Allan. Listen as I read the story.

After the end of classes on March, Allan was


excited because next month, he will go to
Manila to spend his vacation at his cousin’s
place. When the month of April came, he went
to Manila. There, he visits his cousin John.
John take him to the park and they also played
at the playgrounds there. They also shop at
the mall. He did not notice that it is already the
end of April and he has to go home.

He went back home on May. He was so


excited and he can’t wait to tell his friends what
he experienced during his vacation in Manila.
(Pupils will answer all the questions)
(After reading, the teacher will ask the pupils)

there for one month so he went home on May.

3. Guided Practice

This time, we will be having a group work


activity. I will group you into 3 groups. Yes, ma’am!

Each group, I will be distributing a set of flash


cards with the twelve months. In 5 minutes,
you will arrange the cards of months in order.

Did you get me class? Yes, ma’am.

You may start now, afterwards you will present (Pupils presenting their work)
it to the front.

After 5 minutes.
Done already? (Students will clap 10 times)

Our topic was all about the month of the year.
