Applied arts is a broad subject area that
combines aesthetics, design, consumer
need, and finding practical solutions to
problems. It is an area in which design
and decoration come together to create
objects and ideas that are both useful
and beautiful. Applied arts largely
overlaps with decorative arts, and the
modern making of applied art is usually
called design.

Applied arts are important as visually
appealing products are easier to market
and that is the sole reason why financial
experts understand the importance of
applied arts. Applied artists get
numerous employment opportunities,

Fashion uses art, analogous to history,


as a visual model for its contemporary
interpretation. The elevated position
that is given to the fine arts in
occidental culture is employed by
fashion to raise the cultural capital of
its creations. Industrial design, graphic
design, fashion design, interior design,
and the decorative arts all belong to
the realm of Applied arts.
INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

The design of mass-produced


consumer products. Industrial
designers, often trained as
architects or other visual arts
professionals, are usually part of a
larger creative team.

Design can be used to promote and sell

has a commercial purpose, graphic design can
also be a form of art and expression.

newspaper ads. Posters, banners and
billboards. Infographics

accessories. It is influenced by
culture and different trends, and has
varied over time and place.

Refers to all the things that are
inside our house that we encounter
in our day to day life such as chairs
to sit in, tables to eat with,

etc. In other words, furniture are all
the things that are in the house.
