Executive Summary
In this internship report, as part of the partial requirement to achieve the BBA degree from the
University of Lahore, Business School, I display the information and knowledge gained and
obtained over my 6-week tenure at

Master Poly Plastic and sanitary fitting Industries Limited (MPPASFIL)

Going through the company profile, its vision, mission and core values, what industry it operates
and provides its products and services in, who are its competitors, potential clients and general
consumers and analyze the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
(SWOT analysis).

1. Introduction: Pakistan sanitary ware market grew significantly


during 2018-2019 on account of rising urbanization in the country
reaching 37.1% of the total population in 2020 from 34.9% in 2010
and surging construction sector. According to Ministry of
Information and Broadcasting, the federal and provincial
governments approved construction projects of $6.1 billion in July 2021

I was tasked to make a report on this very subject by my superior Mr. Mohsin Rana who
wanted me to analyze the ceramic and tiles sector industry market. I had to see who our main
competitors were that operated in the poly plastic sector and sanitary

4. Products & Services Provided by the Company


(MPPASFIL) operates in areas:

1. Trading (imports) From China:


➢ Chemical & plates
• Usage of European imported Chemical for Core Making
CHROME FINISH
• High Quality Nickel plate is imported from France
➢ PLASTIC PARTS
• Using pure High Quality ABS material. No Recycled material used for ABS parts
• Using food Grade PVC material for flexible pipes
➢ CARTRIDGE
• Using worldwide certified cartridges that are 5lacs (500,000) cycles tested to give a
longer and trouble-free operating life of up to 20 years (considering 60-70 operations per
day)
➢ AERATORS
• Device that mixes air with water to give soft and splash-free flow
o Using European imported Aerators
2. Manufacturing

Plant is located in Master Sanitary Fittings Factory 45PV+4PH, Grand Trunk Rd, Asghar
Colony, Gujranwala, Punjab used for production of sanitary ware, pvcc, tiles and ceramics

HM Tiles: Orio and Ghani tiles and finishing white cement

5. SWOT analysis
Strengths:

1. One of the major strengths of Master Tiles is the production plant which they are
using. The production plant is of Italian technology, was imported in 1995. It is
operated by the Italian engineers.
2. Production over 33000 m2 tiles per day, highest production all over Pakistan.
3. Quality of the product.
4. They have hired 14 Italians engineers to operate the plant
5. They are serving every type of customer; they have wide range of tiles starting from
600 RS to 2000 RS per square-meter
6. They have a big distribution network all over the Pakistan, and have good long term
relations with their dealers.
7. Highly skilled and loyal labor
8. Wide range of variety in their product such as sanitary ware design and concealed
shower
9. Research and development department is always working to improve the quality of
the product and come up with new attractive designs

Weaknesses:

1. The major weakness of the company is production loss due to the shortage of the
energy all over Pakistan.
2. Other weakness Master tiles is facing is by the international competitors they copy
the same design and sale it on low prices than Master tiles.
3. Another weakness of Master Tiles is that networking system because all of the
communication system with their international dealers is based on this networking
system. It there is any type of problem or break down in the server
all communications stop and company has to bear loss.

Opportunities:

1. One of the major opportunities for Master Tiles is to increase their production
capacity to meet up the future demand of tiles. The demand of tiles is increasing and
this industry has potential to grow.
2. Master tiles is importing about 50% of tiles to different countries. They have potential
to increase their imports to other countries.

3. Maximum of the raw material being used for the production of tiles is easily available
in the Pakistan. So, they do not have to import the raw materials.
4. One opportunity for the Master Tiles is that government imposed anti-dumping duties
on Chinese tile which restrict Chinese manufacturers to export tiles in Pakistani
market and sell it on low prices. Their cost increased and they have to sell it on the
same price as of the local tile manufacturers.
5. High demand of tiles in foreign market

Threats:

1. One of the major threats to the Master tiles is that the supply of tiles in the market
with low price by the local manufacturers
2. . One of the threats to Master tiles is of new entrants to the tile industry as the tile
industry in Pakistan has a huge potential.
3. High production due to increasing prices of electricity and gas and as compared
to the foreign competitors their prices are relatively low.
4. Master Tile is facing a threat from the foreign players in this industry, most of the
tiles are being imported from the other countries of the low quality and being sold
at reduced prices

6. Working experience (student own experience)


I was involved in the finance And Accounts Department learning operations and report
immediately to

Mr. Mohsin Rana and Rana Zahid Iqbal was moved through different difficulties such as
analyzing cash flow statement, invoices, reconsolidate debit & credit and cash with draw from
banks, payroll statement and somehow knowledge towards audit and daily closing balances and
fuel expenses and warehouse management of sales role of sanitary product dispatches telly
towards dealers under Mr. Faraz Raza Butt

Weekly Breakdown:

Week 1:

In First Week, I was passionate to work and thought that in my studies of finance learnt a lot and
grip on this field than realized it’s just beginning of journey I learnt patience and system working

and relationship with seniors to become part of them and to do File arranging, dispatches out
door work etc.

Week 2:

In second week, I went of doing attending of different meeting of new system installation
working ERP Named Fast Accounts centralized system by trainer of IT and different sanitary
terms and dealer’s etc.

Week 3:

In third of week, I was given task of ware house finding and next of all cash deposits and
withdraw and got relationship with banks, move to market for recovery system learning and
purchasing and customer handling, cash counting

Week 4:

This week I was given the task of Learning purchase orders through excel making of Quotation,
sale order, sale invoice and daily cash flow statement entries in excel

Week 5:

I attend ending ceremony of resign employee and career path lecturers handling Fuel expenses
voucher and travel expense voucher maintain etc.

Week 6:

In last week I was accessed with new software accounts details then so was given task of
payroll sheet and CP products entries in inventory of accounts

7. Learning from Internship


I have learnt the practical implementation of the studies that were taught and how people,
departments, companies and industries rely on each other to be able to exist in the realm of
business.

I have witnessed the competency, responsibility and temperament required to be able to be in


positions of management and how to handle and deal with subordinates to get the task done.

8. Link between Academic and practical reality


Often, I have heard that practical experience does matter but that word of mouth is current in
somehow my one of my coworkers also said but that so as per my recommendation I have
experience that the things that my teachers taught about computer technical skills and
accounting terms and finance help me to talk with level to my head of managing director finance
and accounts
