7.Automatic Packing Process

GM8804C-4 Packing Controller to supply material from material tank to measuring hopper
by feeding machine under automatical batching status. When material weight in measuring hopper
is greater than or equal to up level limited value, then stop feeding material. Indicator controls to
discharge material into packing bag at fast feeding, moderate feeding and slow feeding. And
indicator check reduced weight, when weighing finished, indicator control to release bag by
clipping bag machine. The whole weighing process as following graphic representation :

GM8804C-4 User’s Manual

The automatic control timing is as:

Description of the process:

Automatic packing process starts, under stop status, when the start input is effective. At this
time, with the controller, the operation output is enabled and the stop output is disabled. Indicator
will zero tare “0” automatically and enter net weight mode, then NET instruction light up.
Indicator check if material weight in measuring hopper is less than up level limited value, if
less, then feeding signal output effectively, so the material tank supply mater to measuring hopper.
When material weight is greater than up level limited value, the indicator will control material tan
to stop feeding material. Then the indicator check whether to clip bag, if clip bag signal is
ineffective, then waiting clipping bag signal, when clip bag signal is effective, the indicator will
output clip bag signal, and start timer t5, clip bag operation will finish after t5 expires. When
finished, the indicator begins to reduce tare in stabilization determinant, means the present weight
will be as tare, enter net weight mode at same time, so GROSS instruction light off and NET
instruction light on. After that start timer t1, discharge material when t1 expires.
First the controller enables fast feeding, moderate feeding and slow feeding signals (If the F6
of recipe parameter is ON, the slow feeding will be jog feeding. The on/off timer are defined by
F6.1 and F6.2.), and the system starts fast feeding process. When the material weight inside the
hopper is greater or equal to the target value minus the leading value of large feeding, the fast

GM8804C-02110101 26
GM8804C-4 User’s Manual

feeding output signal is disabled. System now enters moderate feeding process and starts timer t2.
In t2 time, to avoid overshooting, the controller will not verify the weight inside the hopper, but
keep moderate feeding and slow feeding signal effective. When t2 expires, the controller
real-timely checks the weight inside the hopper, and disables the moderate feeding output to make
the system enter the slow feeding process when the material weight inside the hopper is greater or
equal to the target value minus the leading value of moderate feeding. The t2 is activated again at
this time. The controller will not verify the material weight inside the hopper to avoid
overshooting. When t2 expires, the controller real-timely checks the weight inside the hopper.
When material weight is greater or equals to the target value minus leading value of slow feeding,
the controller disables the slow feeding output, and the feeding process ends. Fixed value output is
enabled.
If recipe parameter no. F5 bag-patting switch is ON, the indicator will start timer t7 when
discharging material, then output bag-patting effective signal when t7 expires and start timer t8,
when t8 expires, then close bag-patting signal.
If over/under tolerance switch is ON, the indicator will start timer t3. When t3 expires, then
start timer t4 and proceed the over tolerance adjustment. If over/under tolerance occurs, the over
tolerance output is enabled. If over/under tolerance adjustment switch is OFF, then don’t start the
timer t3 timer and start timer t4 directly. After timer t4 expires, the indicator control to release
bag( If parameter no. 7 automatical releasing bag switch is OFF, then indicator will not release bag
until releasing). When bag-patting and bag-releasing are completed, the controller proceed reduce
tare and return to gross weight status. GROSS instruction light ON and NET instruction light off.
In discharging material, if material weight inside measuring hopper is less than lower level
limited value, not start feeding material, as feeding material only start before discharging.
Under the operation process, if stop input is effective, the indicator returns to stop status, and
reduce tare and returns to gross weight status.
