3 Device overview
▪ The telecommunication device W-FM COM enables remote access via the internet to
process data and parameters of a burner equipped with W-FM 50, W-FM 54, W-FM
100 or W-FM 200 combustion manager.
▪ It interrogates values from the W-FM as Modbus-Master. The Modbus interface on the
W-FM is therefore occupied and cannot be used by PLC or DDC.
▪ The values are displayed by integral web server and can be called up from a PC
using a Browser.
▪ Physical interface Modbus: 9 pole Sub-D socket (male) via RS232 or RS485.
▪ Physical interface LAN: Ethernet 10/100BaseTX.
▪ Integrated GSM/GPRS QB Modem with SMA-F socket.
▪ One digital input and one digital output are integrated in the W-FM COM, both can be
configured.

Install the W-FM COM in a location with good signal reception avoiding a long aerial
cable run as this weakens the signal considerably. Rather than using a longer aerial lead
use one of the other connection possibilities.
The components can be fitted into an existing control panel. On request, Weishaupt can
also provide for installation into a purpose built housing (such as a wall hung cabinet).
4 Installation
Installation
▪ The W-FM COM is mounted on the top of the DIN rail and pivoted downward until it
locks into place.
▪ Other modules may be connected to the left and to the right.
▪ At least 5 cm clearance must be provided above and below for heat dissipation.
Removal
▶ First, the power and signal cables must be disconnected, then press down
the device and remove.
Vertical installation
The DIN rail can be mounted vertically so that the W-FM COM is installed rotated
by 90 °.
Installation
▶ First, pull down the orange tab on the back of the unit
▶ Then press the device onto the DIN rail
▶ Now slide the tab upward
✓ The device is secured to the rail
