In the topic “The Self in Western and Eastern Thought”, I learned that how different places differ in the

perception of the “self”. Despite of the differences, peace is possible as long as we respect and
understand each other. In the topic “Physical Self”, made me realize how the media affects our self-
esteem through comparing. We should have enough self-confidence and we must accept what and who
we are. We should appreciate our body as it is, no matter what. God gave us this body, we should
respect and take care of it. We are all special just the way we are. Differences make us who we are. It
wouldn’t be you without it.
