During the start process on your Intel® Desktop Board—before the operating system loads—
you can press Function and Control key combinations to launch certain tasks. See the table
below.
Function
key or Purpose
Control key
Initiates a BIOS update process. The updated files are stored on a USB flash

drive.
Opens the Windows* boot option menu. This option allows you to boot into safe

mode, enable boot logging, perform restore tasks, and more.
Launches the Intel® Remote PC Assist Wizard. This function is only available if
F9
your board supports Intel® Remote PC Assist Technology (Intel® RPAT).
F10 Accesses the boot menu and displays all bootable devices.
Opens the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) option ROM user
Control+I
interface. This prompt is available on boards configured to support RAID.
Opens the Marvell* RAID option ROM user interface. This prompt is available on
Control+M
boards configured to support Marvell RAID.
