LNG Overview
• LNG is liquified natural gas, which mainly contains Methane (CH4) with some of Ethane (C2H6).
• Liquified nature gas is only takes 1/600 of the volume in its gaseous state. The liquified conditions
is used facilitate the carriage of nature gas over long distance.

compressor remains without desirable limit.
• The injector should have wide rangeability capacity in

Results of Poor Performance of Cryogenic Injector
• Vapor return to ship cooling
– Kock-out Drum Level Control Failure
– With liquid accumulation downstream of the Injector, the liquid could fill up the suction drum on the downstream of
the injector. Usually, the suction drum has a level indicator and when liquid arises above a certain level it will
initiate a system trip.

• Compressor inlet temperature control

– Increase compressor energy consumption
– Poor performance injector could cause the gas temp oscillation or higher than design, which lead to excessive
energy consumption for the compressor on the downstream.

Yarway Sprayhead Nozzle

• A – Orifice, B – Nozzle Body

• ΔP across Orifice results in an
increase in fluid velocity
• The fluid is rotated in the nozzle
chamber before being emitted

The combination of splitting the feed flow, increasing velocity and rotating effect, ensures
that the fluid is injected into the system in a fine symmetrical hollow cone spray
