General directions

In a short paper, answer the following assessments for this unit. Use additional bond paper if
necessary. Do not forget to indicate your name, course year, and section

Assessment No. 1
Directions: Answer the following items briefly. Points for every item are indicated.
1. Examine the interaction between the nation–state and international organizations.
Which has the greatest impact on government?
➢ The nation-state and international organizations interacted with developing
countries in a better way to succeed in the economy. As far as I can tell, the
nation-state and international organizations work together to protect every
country and avoid war in every country. This has led to the development of world
government. The nation-state emphasizes the government's responsibility to the
country. While international organizations provide the country with the financial
and best rights of the individual. If the international organization is more powerful
than the nation-state, I guess depending on how they help the country. However,
based on my research international organization has more impact on the
government, because they have the greatest power to support the government
financially.
2. Identify at least 5 NGOs/INGOs in the Philippines and determine the effect of their
presence on the people and their effect on government policymaking.
➢ There are some NGOs/INGOs here in the Philippines that advocate for human
rights to people and help as the side of the programs and funds
• Philippine Human Rights Information Center
This organization provide human rights to people and help those who are a victim of
violence. The effect of this on government is good in making policy, they help the
government to solve other problems in a country.
• Habitat for Humanity Philippines(HFHP)
A non-profit Christian ministry working to help build responsible, help Pilipino
families by providing affordable, decent, and durable homes. It gives the
government hope for helping Filipino families.
• Philippine Red Cross
The role of this organization to people is to help them by providing the blood, goods,
and services that they need, it can help the government in policymaking, in reducing the
impact of emergencies and disasters. Then promoting volunteerism, they support the
Philippines government in humanitarian tasks.

• Foundation for Philippine Environment

The impact of this organization to people is to have a sustainable development in
environment, they actually benefited this organization for preserving a healthy
ecosystems and the worlds environmental problems. Where in government sometimes
against it because it affects also to the factories that provides materials, basic needs,
etc.
• men's legal and Human Rights Bureau
The best of this organization is to help people in terms of discrimination, especially the
women they focus on, and the economic, cultural, and social rights of women by
engaging institutions to support women's rights and dignity.
3. Do civil society and NGOs undermine the role of governments in international
relations? Why or why not?
➢ There are times that civil society and INGOs undermine the role of governments
by replacing their role when the governments may not be positioned to facing a
problem. Civil society is a political space incorporating a plurality of actor actors
who organize themselves in many different ways, such as voluntary
organizations, its transnational authorities’ promoted or shifted organized their
activities.
4. Are civil society and other organizations truly separated from the government’s
actions and policies? In what ways can the state maintain its sovereignty amid
globalization?
➢ Based on the learning packet and what I've learned, civil society and other
organizations are not separated from the government why? No civil society and
other organizations are not separated from the governments' actions and
policies. They are also supporting the government’s other policies to create a
more vibrant and progressive community and the country as a whole. Ono way
for the state to maintain its sovereignty in the face of globalization is to take
precautionary measures such as raising citizen awareness, empowerment, and
economic fairness another strategy to protect sovereignty in the face of
globalization is to create regulations, rules, and laws.
Assessment no. 2

Assessment No. 3

Directions: Evaluate ethical implications of a global citizen. Reflect on the question. “what does it mean to become a
Global Filipino?

Being a global citizen would mean making a difference in a world that has been
corrupted by modern capitalism and would mean making a difference to those whose
lives have been affected by it. In a world that is vastly advancing and changing its way
of life. Being a regular person who faces the worlds major problems would mean a
difference can be made for the sake of the people. Global citizens can be referred to as
people who got identification as being part of an emerging world community.
When we as a community come together to honor and respect the people around
us, we create a safe work environment that values other people's differences and
recognize what makes us unique or different. Growing up with a simple family is not
easy, we have raised with empathy for your own people. All of our lives have
become globalized; whether through the Internet, the way in which we’re
impacted by the global economy; our desire to provide humanitarian assistance
to disaster victims in countries other than our own; or even in our love of world
art, music, food, and travel. Because of the many ways in which countries and
people are now so interconnected, we all are now part of an emerging world
community. This doesn’t mean that we have to give up being a member of other
communities, e.g., our town, our country, our ethnicity. It means that we have
another community—the world community—to which we now belong. Find ways
to celebrate your connection to this community. Being a global citizen is also a
celebration of the many different arts and cultures of our people. Take time to
learn the ways in which different cultures give expression to the human spirit.
It’s important to know the being a global citizen being a good to your Filipino
citizen and that how Filipino can as true.
