GRADE XI 2022-23- ECONOMICS GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT WORK

The expectations of the project work are that:

 Learners will complete only ONE project in academic session


 Project should be of 3,500-4,000 words (excluding diagrams & graphs)
 it will be an independent, self-directed piece of study
 The project will be handwritten.
 The project will be presented in a neat folder.
 The project report will be developed in the following sequence-
Cover page should project the title, student information, school and year.
Index, Acknowledgement, Introduction of Project Work( abt covid,its origin, how it affected the
world and a little bit abt the post covid economy), Detailed matter(write abt post covid economy,
losses - hospital industry, hotel industry, tourism industry Profits – Netflix, e-education, ) ,
Conclusion, Bibliography
 Use pictures, news paper clippings, magazine articles etc.
 Use of Statistics – Graphs, Pie Charts, Questionnaire where ever required.

Scope of the project:

Learners may work upon the following lines as suggested-


1. Choose a title/topic
2. Collection of the research material/data
3. Organization of material/data
4. Present material/data
5. Analysing the material/data for conclusion
6. Draw the relevant conclusion
7. Presentation of the Project Work

Expected Checklist:

 Introduction of topic/title
 Identifying the causes, consequences and/or remedies
 Various stakeholders and effect on each of them
 Advantages and disadvantages of situations or issues identified
 Short-term and long-term implications of economic strategies suggested in the course of research
 Validity, reliability, appropriateness and relevance of data used for research work

Suggestive List of Project: ( Choose ANY ONE topic)

1. Effect on PPC due to various government policies


2. Opportunity Cost as an Economic Tool (taking real life situations)
3. Solar Energy, a Cost Effective Comparison with Conventional Energy Sources
4. Any newspaper article and its evaluation on basis of economic principles
5. Effect of Price Change on a Substitute Good (taking prices from real life visiting local market)
6. Effect of Price Change on a Complementary Good (taking prices from real life visiting local market)
7. Bumper Production- Boon or Bane for the Farmer
8. Waste Management in India – Need of the hour
9. Digital India- Step towards the future ( how digitalization has helped during Pandemic)
10. Growth of Service Sector in India.
11. Self-help group
12. Invisible Hand (Adam Smith) – the phrase invisible hand was introduced by Adam Smith in his
book ‘ The wealth of Nations’. He assumed that an economy can work well in a free market scenario
where everyone will work for his/her interest.
13. The Post COVID Economy.
14. COVID 19 Crisis through a Migration Lens
15. Any other relevant topic – should be first discussed in the class with the teacher
