by:Lloyd Rick On your question from the first class. Is there a way to not allow jim but to allow Jim to log in? I don't know if you seen my answer to it I posted it today and you might not get back there to see it. So here it is again here. I use the following select statement; $query = "SELECT userid from users where BINARY userid = '$userid' and password = PASSWORD('$password')"; The BINARY will make it case sensitive. It dose a byte by byte compare. If you log in as Jim it will work, but if you log in as jim it will not let you log in. That worked for me. Hope that works for you. Evaluation of your answers:
1. What is required for the Apache Web server to run PHP programs?
3. What PHP extension should you activate in Wampserver if your PHP code needs to handle JPEG files? You chose: The php_gd2 extension. Correct!
5. What HTML tags should you use around your PHP code?
Your score: 100% (out of 100%). Excellent job! Quiz 1 Date submitted: 07/22/2008 Please print this evaluation for your records.
Lesson 01 Assignment Today's assignment is to make sure your PHP development environment is ready to take on the course project. You can find instructions on how to install the WampServer in this lesson's Supplementary Material. If you took the Introduction course and kept everything intact, you should be just fine. If you uninstalled or reconfigured your WampServer, it would be a good idea to uninstall WampServer, delete the c:\wamp folder, and reinstall the package from scratch. After installing the WampServer package, test it out by writing a few simple PHP programs and watching them run in your browser. When you're finished setting up your PHP development environment, stop by the Discussion Area and introduce yourself to the class. Let us know who you are and why you're interested in PHP (and MySQL) Web development.
