CHAPTER 3: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Objectives:
The main objective of Industry review project is to gain in-depth knowledge about a
particular field of industry. In our case being the auto-ancillary industry. The goal was to get
knowledge about the working of industry as a whole and also to make it even clear we
studied one company in detail to get a clearer picture. Comparison of three companies of the
auto-ancillary industry makes the process of understanding the market even easier.

Scope:
By analysing all the financial information of the company like balance sheet and cash flow
statements along with their market fluctuations we are able to understand how a company
works and withstands the competition. Comparison of companies shows which company
stands at what position in the market. The company’s annual reports gave us a lot of
information from which we can draw conclusions as to how the company should behave in
future to achieve their goals.

Methodology of data collection:

The data collected by us in this report is mainly taken from secondary data from various
sources like published data, newspaper, journals etc. The most part of data was found on the
company’s official website like their history, achievements and organization structure. The
annual reports were also found on the company’s website. We made sure the data we collect
is as reliable as possible so only authentic websites were used in data collection.

Limitations:
The main challenges faced were getting hold of unauthorized data on internet like client
profile. As most data we collected were secondary data the authentication of a few websites
took a lot of time. There was a lot of data so to dig through them and finding relevant and
useful data was difficult.
