2. Desu = (Is/am/are/was) → You can kind of think of は of this kind of
3. Before the は is the topic/// AFTER the は is about/ question/ description about topic
4. Always use ga after question word never wa

Using Particle No - POSSESSIVE

Anata= You Kare= Him/ Boyfriend ( if my in front)


Watashi= I, me Kanojo= Her/ Girlfriend ( if my in front)
Tabun= Maybe Tomodachi = Friends

Dare desu ka= Who is it/he/she/this/they Kore no dare desu ka = who dis
Tomodachi wa dare desu ka= Who is friend Watashi no mizu desu = my soup
( as you point to someone next to them) Kyle no ochinchin desu
Watashi no= Mine Kare wa dare no kaban desu ka= Who’s bag is
Kare no= his this
Kanojo no= her Watashi no okaa-san no ojisann
Kanojo no Kanojo = her girlfriend Wakarimasen= I don’t understand わかりません

Kore(this), Sore(that), are (that over there), Dore (Which one?) ko-so-a-do words (1 of 3+)
1. Kore は jitensha desu (This is a bike)
2. Kore は nan desu ka ( What is this?) // A: Sore は jitensha desu ( That is a bike)
3. Enpitsu ( えんぴつ）wa dore desu ka. // A: Sore desu (while pointing)
4. Dore desu ka ( which one if given a list) // A: Sore desu ( while pointing)
