Machine Learning

Machine learning enables machines to learn from past data and perform tasks automatically, while deep learning uses artificial neural networks to mimic the human brain. Deep learning requires more time and hardware but can analyze large, unstructured data and continuously optimize itself, while machine learning needs less time, hardware and structured data but requires more human supervision. Both approaches are used for applications like recommendations and computer vision, but deep learning generally provides more accurate and powerful predictions at the cost of more complexity and resources.

❑ MACHINE LEARNING

 Machine learning is a part of artificial intelligence that enables machines to

learn from past data and perform a given task automatically.
 Applications - Email spam filtering, product recommendations, etc.
 Examples – Facebook, Twitter, Google Maps, Pinterest, etc.

❑ DEEP LEARNING

• Deep Learning is a machine

learning technique that constructs
artificial neural networks to mimic
the structure and function of the
human brain.

• Applications - self-driving cars,

language translation, natural
language processing, etc.

• Examples – Cortana, MRI results,

X-Rays, etc.

LEARNING
❑ Difference between machine 5

learning and deep learning :-

1. Human Intervention

Machine learning algorithms usually need consistent human supervision to make their
predictions. Deep learning algorithms are more complex and only require occasional human
oversight depending on the task.

2. Time

On the topic of time, machine learning operates much faster but is less powerful when providing
predictions. On the other hand, deep learning takes more time to process data but is far more
intelligent and can continuously optimize itself.
3. Approach 6

While deep learning uses its neural networks to analyze large unorganized data sets,
machine learning needs more structure when looking at data and specific algorithms
for accurate results.

4. Hardware

The hardware that machine learning uses is usually simpler algorithms and can often
run on traditional computers. In contrast, deep learning uses graphic processing units
(GPUs) making the system run more efficiently.

❑ CONCLUSION :-
In conclusion, we can say that deep learning is machine learning with more capabilities
and a different working approach. And selecting any of them to solve a particular
problem is depend on the amount of data and complexity of the problem.
