Capstone Script

The document summarizes a capstone defense presentation on a study about the relationship between temperature, electric current, and electromotive force in a salt-vinegar battery solution. The study tested whether there is a correlation between temperature and electric current, and between temperature and electromotive force, while keeping the electrolyte concentration constant. A quantitative experimental design was used to gather numerical data, which was then analyzed using correlational statistics and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results showed a strong positive correlation between temperature and electric current, but a negligible negative correlation between temperature and electromotive force.

aj:Good afternoon, to all of our co-researchers, to our honorable panelists,

specially to my colleagues, who are witnesses in this important event. we are going
to discuss our study entitled the relationship of temperature to the electric current
and electromotive force of a salt-vinegar solution battery.

nicole:temperature, electric current, and electromotive force are one of the

common words we encounter in our daily lives, as well as in taking our physics
class. we often account temperature with the notion of hotness and coldness. we
oftrn reflect electric current with the electrification of machineries that are used to
reduce the human labor .and, the terminology of electromotive force is
synonymous with batterries. The researchers wants find out if there is connection
between temperature to electric current and electromotive force where the
concentration of the electrolytic solution is held constant.

sai; In conducting the study, the researchers establishes two objectives namely;

to test if there is connection between temperature and electrical current, and

between temperature and electromotive force. These objectives determines what
exactly the researchers aimed to find answers with. In addition, we also stated two
hypotheses; the null hypothesis states that there is no correlation between
temperature to both of electric current and electromotive force.

divine: the study utilizes a true experimental quantitative design. it fits with the
study, because the researchers were gathering numerical data from the
experimentation and interprets the data with high degree of control in the
experiment. In the statistical treatments of the data, the researchers utilizes a
correlational statistics because the researchers are comparing temperature with
electric current and temperature with electromotive force independently.
Specifically, the determination of the degree of correlation between the variables
were done through the finding of pearson correlation coefficient. The correlational
coefficient was also treated using T test to determine the significance of correlation
between variables.
jeannie: after the data were gathered and were treated statistically, we found out
that there is correlation between temperature and electric current with positive
pearson correlation coefficient of 0.98 and the t value of 13.92, more than the
critical t value of 2.306 with the significance level of 5%.These statistical data
suggests that there is strong positive correlation between temperature and electric
current, and its correlation is significant. But in the case of temperaturre and
electromotive force the pearson correlation coefficient is -0.17 and it is very small
value that could be neglected. When, tested using t test with the significance level
of 5%, the value of T is 0.488 smaller than the critical value T which is 2.306. The
statistical data between the temperature and electromotive force suggests that there
is negligible negative correlation between temperature and electromotive force.
