Walt Disney English versión

Introduction
Everyone grew up watching Disney movies, princesses, the lion king, etc. Today we
are going to talk about this company and his founder. Walt Disney Studios was
founded by Walt Disney and his brother Roy O. Disney on October 16, 1923.
However, there was a whole process behind it, mainly taken by Walt Disney, a more
recognized figure, so we'll focus on him.

Early Life
Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago (despite all the
theories that exist). His parents were Elias and Flora Disney. He was a cartoonist,
visionary, character designer, screenwriter and animator. He moved a lot and tried
to grow, but drawing was his passion from the start. His first drawings were sold to
neighbours when he was 7. The story begins when he works distributing newspapers
while attending the school "Benton Grammar" in 1910. His father, however, became
ill, so they moved to Kansas City, and Walter helped him by working (which affected
his notes) and enrolled as a cartoonist in the school newspaper "The Village Voice."
In it, Roy enlisted, and Walter wanting to follow in Roy's footsteps entered the Red
Cross and assisted in France transferring wounded, and in 1919 he was allowed to
return home.

Company
In Kansas, he starts his artistic career as he always dreamed, working as an
apprentice at Pesmen-Rubin Commercial Art Studio and meeting Ubbe Iwerks, an
American animator and special effects tech. When they were out of work, they
started Iwerks Disney Commercial Artist, which lasted only a month, because Disney
got his friend hired at the same company. They both learned more about film
animation there.
They tried again with another company, called Laugh-o-Gram Films, where they
dated traditional stories, until their main client went bankrupt dragging them down.
In 1923, Disney went to Hollywood, after all those failures, and tried to be a
director since he had a certain career, but he wasn't successful. In his next attempt,
he'd partner with his brother Roy to start a new company. On October 16, 1923,
Disney Brothers Studio received his first contract, making the company official, but it
wasn't enough to cover expenses. That was the start of the Walt Disney Studios
Company. When Ubbe Iwerks joined in 1924, Walt stopped animating and started
creating characters, scripts, and directing. The rabbit Oswald was one of his first
characters
He married Lilian Bounds on July 13, 1925, and they had two adopted daughters,
Diane Marie and Sharon Mae.

They changed the name of the company the next year when they moved the office,
because it had already gotten small. Walt Disney Studio was now the name.
However, Winkles Pictures kept the rights to his character Oswald. This is how
Mickey Mouse would be born, when Disney went to New York to deal with his
company's intermediaries. He was originally called Mortimer, until his wife
suggested Mickey. However, it is said that Iwerks was its creator.
The first time Mickey appeared in a theater was in Plane Crazy, a silent film short in
1928. It wasn't a success, and neither was its sequel. With Pat Powers' help, Disney
made a successful sound animation called Steamboat Willie. Adding sound to his
previous works and merjoraron, he was in charge of sound in all his following works
until 1947, where he concludes his time as Mickey's voice, plus Minnie is born.
After that, a boom period began for the company. In May 1932, they created The
Silly Symphonies, a series of short films that were their first projects in technicolor,
an experiment in color. It was 1934 when Donald, Pluto, and Goofy were born.
In 1937, Walt came up with the idea for the first animated feature film, Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs, when the company had already made a name for itself. The
movie proved cartoons could be a whole genre, even though it put them in debt.
Even his fame led to the government asking him to make propaganda works despite
his success on the following projects. As Howard Hughes invested a million dollars in
exchange for his help in the movie industry, things got better. That's why Disney
invested in 18 new projects.
When Disney went to South America, his brother Roy was in charge of negotiating
when Disney met with protests from its workers for salary increases.
Each time, Disney got more and more excited about making an amusement park
for families. The place is now known as Disneyland. In order to do that, he had to
make room for projects that weren't animated, but starring actors like Mary Poppins.
Opening day was July 17, 1955 in Anaheim, California. His early childhood street,
Maceline, had a huge influence on him.
Walt Disney was diagnosed with cancer in his left lung in 1966 and died on
December 15. He was a billionaire, gallant, and deserved 29 Oscars, and he was
loved by everyone. He dies with an unfulfilled dream, a theme park in Orlando,
Florida, that would cater to everyone. It opened in 1971 and was named Walt Disney
World after Walt's brother, Roy. Roy followed the project for Walt.
Currently
We all know Disney and it shaped our childhood. Despite Walt's death, it grew into
one of the biggest entrepreneurship companies.
In 2006, it bought Pixar. Then it bought Marvel three years later, Lucasfilm in 2012,
and 21st Century Fox last year. Its latest expansion was to streaming services. We're
able to find in its catalog all the movies it has rights to (it was already in theaters and
on TV).
Today, we have four more parks, in addition to Disneyland (Anaheim, California)
and Disney World (Orlando, Florida), in France, Japan, and China. Those are
Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney Resort in Tokyo, Shanghai Disney Resort and
Disneyland Hong Kong (both are in China).
