Classroom Participation Rubric: Excellent (4) Satisfactory (3) Fair (2) Needs Improvement

This classroom participation rubric evaluates students on three criteria: participation in classroom discussion, respect for peers, and behavior. For participation, an excellent rating requires actively contributing to discussions more than once, while satisfactory involves asking questions and contributing once, and fair is occasional contributions. Respect for peers means listening to others for an excellent rating, listening most of the time but needing occasional prompting for fair, and not listening or interrupting for needs improvement. For behavior, an excellent rating means almost never displaying disruptive behavior, satisfactory is sometimes displaying it, fair is sometimes needing redirection, and needs improvement requires frequent redirection.
