HOW TO COMPOSE THE SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE CAPSTONE PROJECT

1.4 Scope and Limitation of the Capstone Project

The scope and limitation of the project must talk about two things:

1. The scope of the project

2. Limitations of the project

The scope must clearly present the boundaries of the proposed capstone. It must

present the major components of the capstone project based on the capstone project

objectives that you have identified. It must start with a brief description of what the

capstone project is all about and what solution it tries to provide to create an innovation.

The next paragraphs must talk separately in details about the specifications and

requirements of the capstone project for each identified user segment. For example, your

expected users are end-user, business owner and administrator, the project team must

have a dedicated paragraph that talks about the requirements, specifications and scope of

the project for each identified user with respect to the appropriate objectives of the

capstone project. The scope of the capstone projects for each user must discuss the level of

capability or extent of power of each proposed major functions of the system that are intended to

address all the specified objectives of the capstone project whenever applicable.

The project team must also specify the technology or software to be used in developing

the system. This section must also present the kind of technology to be used in

implementing the system’s modules (e.g., web, mobile or desktop application or

combination)
 The next paragraph must mention the timeframe allotted for the intended completion

of the capstone project. (example: This capstone project will be conducted for two

semesters on Second Semester School Year 2021-2022 to First Semester School Year 2022-

2023. )

The final paragraph must talk about limitations of the capstone project. This must

briefly and clearly describe what will not be covered by the proposed system in terms of its

feature’s coverage and intended technology for implementing the project.

an alternative yet innovative online payment facility to the students of Wesleyan

University-Philippines by providing different mode of online payments that shall be

faced by most students and / or their parents especially during enrollment and payment

peak seasons at the university including but not limited to long lines, unavailable service

during weekends, limited office hours, non-availability of online payment facilities and

social distancing during this pandemic times.

the system including students and system administrator.

The proposed system module for students will be a cross platform mobile

application that will be available for both Android and iOS users. The proposed system
shall be implemented through a secured system access via one-time user registration and

required login and user authentication process whenever access to the system is necessary.

The main functionality of the system shall be the provision of online payment facility that

will enable students and / or their parents to settle financial obligations to the university

on an intuitive self-service environment that is accessible seven-days-a-week with no

breaktime through different modes of online payments (Paymaya, G-Cash and BDO credit

card) . The currently logged student shall be able to access various information about his

financial account and status including payment history, outstanding balances and payment

details.
