Artifact Analysis Worksheet

An artifact is something made by a human. It can be anything that a human conceived

of as art. For this assignment, you are being asked to find and share a human-crafted
object or artifact. It can be anything that was crafted deliberately.

Make sure that your selection is able to be shared on a computer and meaningful to you
so that you can evaluate the piece with the following questions. Since you will be asked
to share the object with fellow classroom members for the Week 3 assignment, avoid
material that might be offensive or too personal for others to comment on. For example,
if you selected a song that contained some cursing and graphic lyrics, there are radio-
friendly versions of most songs that would be more conducive to massive sharing.

Share your artifact in the space below and give a brief description. You can share
the link, insert the image/picture, copy/paste, etc. Just make sure to cite the source
of your artifact.

Note: You will also be asked to share just your artifact in the DocSharing area of our classroom next
week. So make sure you save the info. There are instructions at the very end of this document about
how to do that. You may want to do this now too.

In the space below, write a short paragraph about why you selected this artifact. Tell
the reader the story of you and the selected artifact from beginning to end. In other
words, what’s the story around this artifact as it connects to you?
When I was a kid, I liked to play video games, my dad bought me games
occasionally, when I grew up my dad already didn't buy me more games, but even I
liked video games.

I chose this artifact because represents a nice recollection for me, when the
console went out to the sale I was starting working, when I received my first payment
I decided to buy the console, it was the first thing that I bought with my salary.

Provide some additional research on this artifact.

For example, if it is a song, do you have information about the songwriter? If it is a

painting, do you know any more about the artist? Describe any additional information
that you have about the creator of the artifact. If the creator or artist is unknown,
please provide your best guess as to who created the artifact.

Consider these questions: How has technology changed human art making? How
has technology changed human art sharing? How do you, or could you, use
technology in making your own art?

Insert your answer below:

I think that technology has had many advances in the last twenty years, thanks to
the technological advances we can communicate easily in an emergency. Thanks to
technological advances, the creation of art also has changed, for example, when a
picture doesn't come out as expected it can be arranged with a computer program,
another example is when an artist has a concert but he's sick, the concert can follow
because his assistants can help you with a computer to improve your voice. In the
second question, I believe that with the technology we can share easier all kinds of
things, with the internet it's very easy to send an image or a song by WhatsApp,
personally I think that technology is good because it helps us in some tasks daily,
however, many people abuse it and lose the "meaning of life".

Finally, in the last question, it's difficult for me because I don't know how to
describe how I would do art with technology because I'm not very good doing art, but
I think that you could use the technology to create an advertising video or a short film
with the help of programs of edition, could also make some combinations of sounds
from different musical instruments to create a melody.
