Game UI - Illustrator/Animator

Game UI Internship @ MPL

As a Game UI Senior Product Designer you will be working with our entire games team to shape the
visual language for our upcoming games. You will be closely working with a team that is designing some
highly polished gaming experiences for the RMG domain, especially with our team of enthusiastic game
designers and developers. You would be working on defining the experience and emotions our players
will have through great presentation and animations - from the humble button to the most intriguing
leaderboards to complex menus for our most skilled players. You will work closely with your Game
Designers, Artists and Developers to make sure our players have a fantastic sensory experience - be it
Visual, Audio or Haptic! We would like you to have an excellent understanding of Unity UI development
so that you can partner with and guide our devs for the best possible implementation.

Responsibilities

● Creating UI deliverables at different parts of the design process - moodboards, screens,


illustrations, prototypes and animation/motion
● Working with other members of the team to define visual direction, themes and concepts for
new games and projects
● Working with other members of the Game Design and Product team to translate Wireframes
and Flows into finished gamified UI with motion and illustration
● Preparing style guides which are in line with the games look and feel. For example - a casual
game would need a very different treatment than a shooter
● Working with game devs on features such that the experience goals are met and functionality is
maintained keeping visual consistency across the game intact
● Coordinating and executing end mile deliverables with engineering teams in environments like
Unity, Unreal and HTML5

Requirements

● Thorough in your Design Process with exceptional focus on craftsmanship and visual finesse
● Experience working on Mobile or Web-based Games is recommended
● Knowledge of game design, art and animation to build UI themes and concepts and making a
highly polished game interface
● Knowledge of UI trends in the current generation of mobile games.
● UI expertise and understanding of typography, color systems, iconography and motion
● Strong presentation, communication and argumentative skills
● Awareness of current visual trends and UI guidelines across games and platforms
● Hands-On UI Design experience (Figma is preferred over Adobe XD, Sketch)
● Hands-On experience with Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator)
● Hands-On Prototyping experience (Any of Figma, Principle, Marvel, Invision, Framer etc.)
