LESSON PLAN

KINGDOM OF FOOLS

Learning Objectives The student will be able to:
 To enable the students enrich their vocabulary and read with
proper intonation.
 Enable the students to understand the moral lesson coveyed.
 To enable the students to analyse the strength and weaknesses
of the characters depicted.
 To inculcate moral values and reasoning power among
students.

Methodology Day 1:
 Test the prior knowledge on stories with moral lesson.
 The chapter will be introduced along with the information
about the author and setting of the story.
Day 2:
 Silent reading by the students and come up with various
question from self-understanding.
 The students will be encouraged to discuss about the ending of
the story based on the reading and research done by them.

Day 3:

 Loud reading by the teacher with detailed explanations and


word meanings.
 Extra questions will be asked in between the lesson to students.
 Students will jot down key points and unknown words.

Day 4:

 Students will identify the use of humour and sarcasm.


 Students will narrate other moral stories in the class similar.
 They will be encouraged to frame a stories on similar theme.

Day 5:

 Conclusion will be drawn through character analysis.


 Clarifying of doubts and discussion of the key words for the
questions at the back of chapter.
Assessment Students will be assessed on:
 The content and expression of answers provided on day 3
 Different questions will be asked to evaluate their
understanding.
*Find out the meanings
*Knowledge based- short questions
*Reference to context questions
*Long questions to check the comprehension and analysis level
Following are given as sample:
a. What things were different in Kingdom of fools?

b. Bring out the weakness in the character of the king.

c. Change the ending of the story. (Application)
d. What would you have done if you were into the
situation as same as the disciple was? (Role play)
e. Create a one act play based on the story. (Art
integration)

Improvisations
 Students were asked to give their personal responses.
 They were asked to tell how it had affected them.
 Most of them enthusiastically performed but few couldn’t due
to lack of understanding.
 Students were made to identify their weaknesses, doubts were
clarified through group discussions.
