COURSE RECORDER & HEADING DISPLAY

The X950 Course Recorder with printer can be used as a


direct replacement for the old electro-mechanical course
recorders. The unit is compatible with most proprietary gyro
signals and standard GPS equipment.

In addition to acting as a course recorder, the X950-C will


also function as a heading repeater, with a 4 digit digital
display with a 4 bar ROT trend indication. Illumination,
alignment, and control are via a tactile three-button keypad.

A single line of data is output at selected intervals to a dot


matrix printer with a serial port. Gyro heading, GPS
position, course and speed over ground and time UTC are printed in plain English. As well as paper copies, the data
can simultaneously be sent to a PC for data archiving etc.

An optional printer, (part no. PRN-0001) can be supplied by AMI, pre-configured for plug and play connection to the
course recorder.

SPECIFICATIONS
INPUT 1: DC and rectified unsmoothed DC stepper, 4 to 90v. 360:1 Synchro up to 115v/90v.
50/60 400/500 Hz. 90X 400 Hz contactless transmitter.
Tracking rate = Frequency / 3deg/sec. (DC step 333 deg/sec) NMEA 0183 input, so
both input channels are NMEA. Input 1 must be $HEHDT,x.x,T

INPUT 2: NMEA 0183, GPS data or GPS and heading data. These sentences provide the
data required. $GPRMC or $GPGGA + $GPVTG + $GPZDA.

OUTPUT: 4800 baud. 8 bits. No parity. 1 stop bit. RS422 and RS232 compatible.

Example: time, position, heading, speed and course over ground, date. 12:30:00,
51 30.521N 003 23.456 W, 009 deg, 12.0 sog, 012 cog, 21:11:06

DISPLAY: 4 digit red LED 0.6 inch, 15mm high for heading. Adjustable illumination using
buttons.

CONTROL: 3 push button switches for align, increase and decrease.

POWER: 10 to 32 volts DC at 5 watts.

CONNECTORS: Via cable glands to removable terminal blocks.

ENCLOSURE: 144x 182 x 65mm, 600g


Supplied with a trunnion. Or optional screw clamps for panel mounting.

80 columns, 4800 baud Serial Port, for fanfold or paper roll.
Supplied as 220/240 VAC only.
Set printer for International English font, and Auto-LF.
