X X N X 63+74+42+65+51+54+36+56+68+57+ X 2,616 X 65.4

1. The document contains data on 40 students' test grades with measures of central tendency (mean, variance, standard deviation) and distributions (histogram, frequency polygon). 2. Additional data is presented on 26 college students' test times with measures including range, interquartile range, and coefficient of variation. 3. Mail delivery data is shown categorized by type (letters, ads, magazines) and location (home, business). Probability calculations are demonstrated using this data. 4. A probability distribution is given for the number of Pepsi drinks consumers buy with calculations of mean, variance, and probabilities for ranges of values.

1. (f) The histogram and the stem-and-leaf data can be describe to be approximately
skewed, or more precise left-skewed distribution. The distribution is asymmetrical
because a natural limits prevents outcomes on one side.

(a) There are 26 college students were studied at the moment.

(b) There are 7 Students in the third class.
(c) Small Value = 37, High Value = 58
(d) The Actual Value in the fourth row is: 51,52,52,53,54
(e) There are 16 Students that completed the test in less than 50 minutes.

*The Coefficient of Variation is 9.4671

(d)We can say that direction of the skewness will fall towards mostly to the right side.
This is because the Mean is higher than the median which indicated that the data is
skewed to the right.

(e) Since the Empirical rule insist on having two standard deviation of the mean, the
calculation can be done as following
m=5.400
Standard Deviation=7.150

Calculation
¿ 5.400+2(7.150)
¿ 5.400+14.3
¿ 19.7

or
¿ 5.400 – 2(7.150)
¿ 5.400−2(7.150)
¿−8.9
*Therefore, 95% of the data will fall between -8.9 and 19.7.
The problem with this empirical rule that it has limitation. The rule only works for a data
that is approximately symmetric and with extreme values reasonably represented by the tail areas
of the bell shaped curve. More percisely, the empirical rule works well with data that is
approximately normally distributed. Based on the answer -8.9, it is impossible that the time of
teenagers working part-time is negative
