    CASE STORY TITLE: A Better Alternative for the Youth of Barangay Maligalig

    Conflict Identification

    There have been concerns about substance trafficking among the youth of barangay Maligalig.
    Some teens are seen as using substances, and some are reported to consume alcoholic
    beverages.
    These acts also influence others since it is already typical in the area. Fraternities are being
    formed in the room towards the use of these substances. With the continuous usage of
    these substances, with an undeveloped body, there will be complications while they grow
    up.

    Plan of Action

    Other activities should be available for these youth, so they do not result in the negative actions
    they are involved in now. The barangay can organize recreational activities like
    basketball/volleyball tournaments or seminars and social interaction among the youth.

    There should also be adult supervision or those who will check on the welfare of children and
    teenagers in the area. Given that there are cases of abusing substances/alcohol, the barangay
    should take action to decrease these abuses.

    Reflection

    With the increasing poverty in the Philippines, people have been abusing the families’ financial
    situation. With the youth unable to get proper education, there have been occurrences where
    they go to their bad habits. As a student, I am responsible for knowing what is good and evil and
    sharing my knowledge with others who are disarrayed from these truths.
