Over 1, 000 scientist from different countries conduct a protest to warn everyone that the
Earth can only live for 3-5 years from now if the government agencies will not make “rapid and
deep” cuts to greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gas emissions are gasses that traps the
heat in the atmosphere like: Carbon Dioxide which came from coal, oil, solid waste, biological
materials, chemical reactions and so on; Methane which usually cam from production of coal,
natural gas, and oil, livestock, using of decay organic waste in municipal solid waste landfills;
lastly, Nitrous oxide which emitted from agricultural use, land use, and industrial activities,
combustion of fossil fuels and solid waste. If these greenhouse gasses continue to increase,
climate change will be getting worse as it produces positive climate forcing or warming effect.
Thus, scientist suggest that there must be drastic cuts for less than five years in greenhouse gas
emissions alongside with scale-up of renewable energy is the only most effective option to save
the Earth.
