industrial visit to Mother Dairy.

Introduction:
Mother Dairy was established in 1974 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the
National Dairy Development Board. Over the time, Mother Dairy has contributed
significantly in achieving their objective. Presently, Mother Dairy is one of the
leading manufacturers in milk and milk products like ice-cream, paneer and ghee.
The company has also diversified portfolio in edible oils, fruits and vegetables,
frozen veggies,etc. It has been recognised as the second best in the FMCG
industry and is the largest liquid milk company in Asia.

 Mission - Mother Dairy's heritage is linked to the Cooperative Movement in
India. With determination and pride they continue to serve are farmers,
rural India and our consumers. "Our value reflects who we are and what we
firmly believe in".
 Vision - Mother Dairy insures that the farmers and milk producers
continually receive market prices, by offering milk and milk products to
consumers at competitive prices.

Procurement of Milk
Milk received from individual producer is checked for all basic quality parameters
meeting companies specifications and requirements at respective collection and
chilling centres.
This milk is transported to the plant in the insulated Road tankers at a very low
temperature i.e. 4°C for the freshness of the milk.
Strict quality checks are performed for all incoming milk received at Dairy units.
These include COB test, Acidity test, Alcohol test, Fat and Snf test, Lactometer
test, MBR test etc.
Processing Of Milk
Marketing:
Mother dairy uses different marketing strategies in the market. It uses different
modes to promote its products like newspapers, television, radios, and social
media.
a) Its ice cream segment has gained a lot of popularity due to its television
commercials.
b) Whereas Safal uses green and environment-friendly themes to sell its
products.
c) Dhara brand has been on TV commercials for quite a long time. It also has
tied up with Paytm and UPI for cashless payment at its booths and hence
showing it is technologically updated. 

Quality Standards:
Mother Dairy is an ISO 9001:2008(QMS), ISO 22,000:2005(FSMS) and ISO
14001:2004(EMS) certified organization. Mother Dairy has certificate of approval
from export inspection Council of India also. Moreover, its quality assurance
laboratory is certified by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration
Laboratory (NABL)-Department of science and Technology, Government of India

Management:
It has been a constant endeavour at Mother Dairy to stay connected with its
stakeholders. The company is committed to bring happiness to every individual
with its range offering pure, hygienic and adulteration free high quality products
which has been the strength, differentiator and heritage off the brand over the
years
Like any other private sector entity, it enjoys the freedom to appoint the requisite
professional talent in key position and to take decisions with the flexibility and
speed that is required in an increasingly competitive market.
It also gives the employees the satisfaction that their work touches the lives of
millions of farmers and aims to enhance the economic status of rurals.
The management feel that the objective of getting into new location is not to
make Mother Dairy larger, but to ensure that there is a large viable distribution
network and consumer brand to take care of surplus milk
Management reminds that Mother Dairy is still essentially a cooperative and not a
corporative.

ii. Home delivery of milk
iii. Capturing More market
iv. Awareness about freshness of packaged milk and removal of
misconceptions
v. Follow food safety management system and comply with applicable
regulations and legislations.
