Step 1: Click the ADD A NEW COURSE inside the course category that you manage.
Step 2: Input the COURSE FULL NAME and COURSE SHORT NAME (required).
2
Step 3: Select the location of your course in the learning management system through the
COURSE CATEGORY.
Step 4: In the GENERAL settings, you can choose to Show the COURSE VISIBILITY (if you want
learners and teachers to see and access your course) or select hide if your course is still in the works
and you don’t want learners and teachers to see your course just yet).
4
Step 5: Set the COURSE START DATE or the period that your course will be available for access. You can
also set the COURSE END DATE or the period that your course will be closed and inaccessible. To add
some uniqueness to your course, you may encode a Course ID Number (optional).
Step 6: Next, you can add a COURSE SUMMARY to discuss or present the overview of your course.
6
Step 7: For learners to easily identify the course, add a COURSE IMAGE. To add it, click the ADD FILE
ICON, then select UPLOAD FILE, and click CHOOSE FILE. As a dialogue box opens, select the
image you want to upload as your course image, then select UPLOAD THIS FILE.
Step 8: In the COURSE FORMAT settings, you can select if the course would appear as a single activity, or
would show either of the following formats: social, topics, or weekly. The most commonly used
are the topics and weekly format.
8
Step 9: Select the NUMBER OF SECTIONS that you want your course to have.
Step 10: Leave the default settings in the HIDDEN SECTIONS. In the COURSE LAYOUT, you can
select SHOW ALL SECTIONS ON ONE PAGE (all sections are visible on a single page) or SHOW
ONE SECTION PER PAGE (each section is viewed per page).
10
Step 11: In the APPEARANCE settings, select the DO NOT FORCE option for FORCE LANGUAGE, set
the NUMBER OF ANNOUNCEMENTS that you want in your course [the default is five (5)].
You should also set the SHOW GRADEBOOK TO STUDENT and SHOW ACTIVITY REPORTS to
YES to stay transparent with the activities and the grades earned.
11
Step 12: For FILES AND UPLOADS, you may customize the file upload size up to 1 GB (optional). It is best
to select this maximum file size if you plan to add large files like videos in your course.
12
Step 13: Select YES for COMPLETION TRACKING to show the learners’ progress in the entire course.
13
Step 14: In GROUP MODE, you can select either of the two options: NO GROUPS if your course is for one
class or section only, or SEPARATE GROUPS if your course is accessed by multiple sections.
Other settings such as Force group mode, default grouping, role renaming, and tags are in default
mode.

Step 15: Click SAVE AND RETURN.
