Bim Objects: Usage Manual
INTRODUCTION
The Huurre Ibérica systems based on insulating and cold storage panels have been modelled and
parameterised as curtain wall panel families. This solution enables us to produce panel systems in a
semi-automatic manner without having to position the panels one by one.
This document includes a guide on how to use these panels in curtain wall systems and sloped
glazing.
Panel selection
Each particular panel has its own purpose. Table below allows the user to determine which is the one
that best fits the project needs.

Selecting one of the panels (Important - select only one panel and not the curtain wall system) and
by clicking on Edit Type, we can check all this information.
Please note that Huurre Ibérica panels have predefined widths that can be checked in their type
properties: they are 1.0 or 1.15m depending ont he particular panel.
If we select the curtain wall and click on edit type, we will see that we can edit the layout of the
curtain grid. As vertical grid, we need to enter the panel width of the panel selected for the project.
For this purpose, we will use the “fixed distance” option. The horizontal grid corresponds to the panel
lengh which depends on each particular project.

Once these parameters have been input, we must select the panel type to be used into the section
Construction>Curtain Wall Panel.

We will then change its type of panel on the upper section of the properties list in the drop-down box.
Page 4
In such a case, the user must model a new panel type after checking availability with the manufacturer.
Once created and loaded into the project, we will only have to select those panels that are to be
changed and replace them with the new panel type.
In order to select a panel instead of the curtain wall system, we have to place the cursor on the relevant
panel and click on the TAB (Tabulator) key on the keyboard and when its edges change to blue we must
click with the left button on the mouse.
Once the panel is selected, we can unblock it by clicking on the drawing pins or by searching for the
unblocking tool (UP Command) on the Modify tab.

We will then change the type of panel on the drop-down box on the upper section of the properties list
by the new type.
We must select one of the panels as specified in the section Modelling Curtain Walls. When selected,
click on edit type and search for the corresponding parameter for the relevant type of joint within the
Visibility parameter grouping.
Once we have drawn the roof, we will proceed in the same way as for walls. We have to edit the panel
type and load the panels we want to use. We then will set the “fixed distance” rule for Grid 1 and will
apply the width of the relevant panels.

As in the curtain wall case, if we do not use dimensions that are multiples of the wall width, we will have to
model a special panel in order to adapt it to the the sloped glazing system dimensions.
If we see that the panels have been inserted in the opposite direction, we will proceed to select all of
them. With the cursor on the system>tabulator>left click>right click>select panels>panels in host.

The panels of Huurre Ibérica are configured to be able to apply the material according to the color
chart. Depending on the material applied, we will be associating one finish color or another. HUURRE
color chart can be downloaded from the following link.
For the application of the different colors, from now on Revit materials, we must import them to our
project and then associate them with the selected panel.
The different materials have been created in an RVT file that will be used as a template or material
library. Within this template of materials we will find the 27 materials that make up the color chart for
the different available panels. The document only contains the materials with the colours of Huurre
and is named as follows: HUURRE_COLORES DE ACABADO.
In order to import the file, the two Revit files need to be opened (the materials template and the
project in which we want to apply these materials). Once opened, while in the project case study,
select the option Transfer project rules in the toolbar.
At this moment a dialog box will appear requesting us where and what we want to transfer it. We will
select the colour library-file and state that we only want to import the materials.
Each of these imported materials have a graphic configuration so that they are displayed with the
appropiate colour, and have some attributes that will allow us to obtain more information about the
finishing colour. In addition, we can access from the URL parameter to the colour chart mentioned
above.

In order to apply the materials to each panel, we need to select the type of panel to which we want
to apply a certain color. Then, we need to choose the “Finishing material” parameter and replace
the current material with any of the available list.
In case we want to apply two different colors to the same type of panel (Model and thickness), we
must double the type and create a new one to be able to apply different materials. We recommend
using the following taxonomy in the type name in order to differentiate them: Thickness_ FINISH
COLOR. We can see an example in the following image:

This table can be imported to our project in order to control the different panels and their finishing
materials through the option Insert views from file, which we will find in the Insert tab and in the Insert
from file function.
