About the Conference

Construction Industry is one of the infrastructure industries that has been consistently considered as a thrust area by Government of India. There have been number of incentives from time to time by the Governments both Central and the State - to continuously encourage this industry. However, it is also observed that incentives by the Governments come with many complex conditions, sometimes amendments in the applicable laws go on being enacted to plug actual or perceived loopholes with the result that those laws become more and more complex. Further, construction projects and transactions in immovable properties carry high values leading to high stakes for the parties involved. Moreover such projects and transactions are carried through over long duration of time and many a times over more than one accounting period. Long duration in carrying through such transactions and projects complexities increase the possibilities of litigation. The purpose of this Conference is therefore to study and analyse relevant laws, accounting and tax issues and related aspects with the help of prominent experts. Day 1: 9th July, Saturday
