Q#1: Give characteristics of each of the


following devices:
(a)
Plotters:
 A plotter is a computer hardware device much like a
printer.
 This is used for printing vector graphics.
(b)
Monitors:

 It is the primary device.


 It is used for displaying information from the
computer.
(c)
Mouse:
 It is the primary device.
 It is used for navigating and interacting with the
computer.
(d)
Keyboard:
 It is the primary device.
It is used for entering information into the computer.

Q#2: Explain the different types of plotters.


Flat Bed Plotters:
 This is a plotter where the paper is fixed on a flat
surface and pens are moved to draw the image.
Drum Plotters:
 In the drum plotters the pen is moved in a single
axis track and the paper itself moves on a
cylindrical drum to add the other axis.

Q#3: what is the difference b/w impact and


non- impact printers?
Impact Printers Non- impact printers
They use a print head They are much quieter than
containing a number of metal impact printers as their printing
pins heads do not strike the paper.
Some print heads have only 9 They are of three types.

working of mouse:
 It is the primary device.
 It is used for navigating and interacting with the
computer.
 It is the popular input device.
 You move it across the desk and its movement is
shown on the screen by a marker known as
“ curser “.
