What is communicative style?

It is a form of language that the
speaker uses which characterized by the
degree of formality.
What are types of communicative styles?
The way you communicate has a big
impact on how you get on with people
and get the things you want to. Good
communication skills can help you
avoid conflict and at the same time solve
problems. They are also important for
making friends and having healthy
relationships. There are varied styles of
communicating to others depending on
the purpose, and the person spoken to.
We have six and the first one is
1. Intimate – Marked by warm
friendship developing through long
association. It is a style among
intimate members of a family or
friends that don’t need a complete
language with clear articulation. It is
enough to use short utterances.
2. Casual – Marked by lack of high
degree of interest or devotion. A form
of information sharing typically used
in personal conversations with friends
or family members.
3. Conversational – Marked by
informality. A speaker’s ability to
sound expressive and to be perceived
by thaudience as natural.
4. Consultative – Marked by a high
regard to the person spoken to. It is
used in some group discussion,
regular conversation at school,
companies, trade, speech
conversation, etc. It was the most
operational among other styles.
5. Frozen – Very set in its way and
does not change. Does not allow for
interaction with others. It is the most
solemn communicative style since it’s
usually used in a respectful situation.
6. Formal – A type of verbal
presentation or document intended to
share information in which conforms
to established professional rules,
standards and processes.

communicative styles in a real-life
