1. The document is a biology exam with multiple choice and short answer questions covering topics like mammalian characteristics, digestive system parts, cellular respiration, human reproduction, and ecological relationships.
2. The questions test knowledge of placental vs. egg-laying mammals, carnivore dental formulas, aerobic vs. anaerobic respiration pathways, male reproductive organs, and the effect of parasite population size on host populations.
3. Diagram labeling and short answer questions require knowledge of brain anatomy, leaf starch testing, microgametophyte development, and the nitrogen cycle from decomposers to atmospheric nitrogen.

(10 marks) a) Provide labels to the given diagram. (Do not copy the diagram).
b) Give a dental formula of a carnivore and its food source.
c) Give the chemical equation of aerobic and anaerobic respiration. d) State the organs of male reproductive system of man, one is used for storage and the other for introducing the sperms. e) State the relationship between parasites and population size of the host. 5. Answer ANY FOUR questions. (20 marks) a) Provide labels and caption to the given diagram. (Do not copy the diagram).
b) Briefly explain the chlorophyll and chloroplast.
c) State the effect of carbon dioxide concentration in blood with suitable example. d) Compare the activity of sperms and egg and describe process of fertilization in man. e) Give a part of the word diagram to show how atmospheric carbon dioxide is converted to fossil fuels. 6. Answer ANY FOUR questions. (40 marks) a) With illustration explain the prominent features of parts of the brain that are concealed by the cerebral hemispheres from the dorsal view and give explanation on the nerves that are included in the peripheral nervous system of the rabbit. b) Explain how a leaf can be tested for the presence of starch. c) Explain anaerobic respiration and how this process takes place in animals including man. d) Mention precisely the process of microgametophyte, double fusion during the seed formation and cutting in plants. The anther contains microspore mother cells that undergo meiosis to give four functional microspores. Following mitosis, each is a pollen grain containing two cells. At about the time of pollination, one of these cells divides to give two sperms that travel down a pollen tube to the ovule. During double fertilization, one sperm nucleus joins with the egg nucleus and the other joins with two polar nuclei. The ovule now mature and becomes a seed that contains an embryonic plant and stored food. Cutting can be taken from the plant, and the cut end can be treated to encourage it to grow roots or a cutting can be grafted to the stem of a plant that has a root. e) Give a part of the word diagram of nitrogen cycle that starts from decomposers to atmospheric nitrogen and explain the process of nitrification.
