ABSTRACT

This project is about designing and building portable water filter. The water quality standards and
the requirements of portable filter was studied. During wild camping, disaster areas, flooded areas
availability of fresh water for drinking purpose is difficult and also water purification process
cannot be applicable.

We can overcome this situation by using portable water filter. It is a light weight filter system. We
can carry it anywhere and it have simple working mechanism. So easy to use this filter. Micro filter
membrane and activated carbon are used for water filtration.

Our purpose is to build a portable water filter that meets water quality standards and solve the
current problem and make the water filter system helpful during wild camping, disaster areas,
flooded areas, defence etc.
