Tessitura is a youth choir from the Mary Mother of Good Counsel Parish comprised of over two dozen youth from diverse backgrounds. The choir takes its name from the Latin word for "texture" which refers to the internal organization and complexity of music as well as the range where most of the melody lies. Under the leadership of music director RodelNoreli Lorenzo, the choir's repertoire includes Filipino church music as well as praise and gospel music. In 2009, Tessitura organized a youth concert called "Listen. Do you Hear What I Hear?" with over 120 youth participants to praise God, gather parish youth, and raise funds for youth organizations.

Tessitura is a youth choir under the Mary Mother of Good Counsel Parish.

In music, Tessitura (Latin for texture ) refers to the internal organization and complexity of the music. Simply put, it is the range where most of the melody lies. It also talks about the arrangement how the music changes, and how we re supposed to react to these changes in order to create beautiful music. Tessitura aptly embodies the group whose members come from diverse backgrounds, and are brought together by their desire to worship the Lord through music. Today, it is comprised of over two dozen youth residing in Barangay Marcelo Green. Tessitura is a youth choir of the Mary Mother of Good Counsel Parish of the Vicariate of San Antonio de Padua, Diocese of Paranaque City. Tessitura takes its name from the Latin word than means texture , and in music refers to the internal organization and complexity of the music, the range where most of the melody lies. Texture refers to the arrangement of music and the response to the changes to create beautiful music . Tessitura aptly embodies the group whose members come from diverse backgrounds, and are brought together by their desire to worship the Lord through music. Today, it is comprised of over two dozen youth from the parish and the Vicariate of San Antonio de Padua and Vicariate of San Martin de Porres. Under the leadership of music director RodelNoreli Lorenzo, Tessitura s repertoire began with FilipinoChurch music by Manoling Francisco, SJ and Eduardo Hontiveros, SJ among others, and has quickly expanded to praise and gospel music. Notable compositions include those performed by Ron Kenoly, Sandi Patti, Martin Nystrom, and Alvin Slaughter. In a joint effort with the Mary Mother of Good Counsel Commission on Youth, Tessitura organized a youth concert in 2009 entitled, Listen. Do you Hear What I Hear? The concert was held at the Insular Life Auditorium, Alabang on December 5, 2009. The production of one hundred twenty consisted of several youth groups in the parish and its chaplaincies, Barangay Marcelo Green as well as guest performers from a growing Atenean ensemble, Blue Symphony. The event was a huge success as it accomplished its three-fold objectives: to lift praises to God, to gather the youth of the Parish together, and to raise funds for the youth organizations under the parish. Tessitura participates in other parish, vicariate and diocese activities not only through praise festivals and concerts, but lends a hand where youth energy and volunteerism are required. They group takes pride in their participation in the 2011 Philippine tour of the relics of St. John Bosco,and Takbo Para Kay Kristo fun run last 2010. Currently, Tessitura is embarking on a second concert entitled, I Testify! which will be held at the Philam Life Auditorium in Manilaon June 11, 2011. This time, the participation in this concert has expanded its reach to include youth performers of parishes under the Diocese of Paranaque another step closer to fulfilling her mission of drawing the youth closer to God.
