First of all, I would like to extend my warm wishes to our 2016-20 B.Tech. batch. Congratulations on graduating and wishes for all the
success in life. We sincerely hope that your new journey will be full of peace, harmony, success and comfort.
“Engineers like to solve problems. If there are no problems handily available, they will create their own problems" - Scott Adams. In the
same essence, our students Mr. Anupam Bhattarai and Mr. Ayush Dhingra won rst prize at 24-hour Hackathon which was organized
by Unicept (Gurgaon) on 4th February 2020. The given challenge was to “Provide better early childhood education, help college
students learn new skills or re-skill people in the workforce. The possibilities are endless”. We are glad and feel proud of this
achievement.
During this period of COVID19, I sincerely advice you to stay home and follow the instructions of government.

Special lecture on “Job Prospects in Atomic Energy Sector”

School of Engineering and Technology(SET) and RTDC, Sharda University had jointly organized a special lecture on “Job Prospects in
Atomic Energy Sector” on 15th November, 2019 for the Research scholars, students, and faculty of SET and SBSR.
Objective of Event:
To enlighten students regarding the current scenario of jobs in Atomic Energy and related sectors &To provide students with an
opportunity to interact with eminent scientists of BARC, India.

In order to encourage youth to innovate smart projects, The
Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) in
association with a Sharda university organised the second
edition of ‘Technovation Hackathon 2’ in order to mark its29th
Foundation Day. The second edition addresses global issues of
smart citizen & governance, transportation, smart security,

safety & surveillance, waste management and energy systems. The event witnessed participation from premier institutions and
universities across India. More than 200 team scomprising of over 650 students who came together with anaim to ideate and create
innovative solutions for some of the critical issues faced by the people living in the Greater Noida region Shri. Deep Chandra, ACEO,
GNIDA was the Chief Guest of the Award Ceremony. The convenor of this
event is Dr. Prof. Parma Nand, Dean, SET.
Dr. Prof. Parma Nand, Dean, SET is facilitated for organizing successful
event during Winter carnival held on 28th January, 2020 at GNIDA.

‘Innovation Business Transformation Tools”

Sharda University had organized a seminar on “Innovation Business Transformation Tools” in collaboration with the Indian Industry
Association (IIA), Greater Noida on 13th March 2020 (Friday).
Sharda University has MOU Signed with IIA for collaboration in different areas. Indian Industry Association (IIA) Greater Noida is
having more than 350 Industries.
Objectives:
• Interaction of Sharda University faculty members with industry experts.
• How to get Project Consultancy from industry.
• To do student projects in the industry.

Sharda University had organized a seminar on “Industry Sponsored Micro-S.U.R.E program” in collaboration with the U.D.Food Pvt
Ltd and Encore Capabilities 20th November2019.Fit India Movement is a nation-wide movement in India to encourage people to
remain healthy and t by including physical activities, sports & healthy eating habits in their daily lives, launched by PM on 29
August 2019.
Dedicated to support “Fit India movement” thru “Nutritious Forti ed baked & not fried Snacks” .They are ready to mentor the young
buddies to achieve their dreams .Approximately 24 Students wished to become part of this project.

infrastructure and environmental engineering.

Department Achivements

Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SET, DSC is


organised Hands-on Session “FUN WITH FLUTTER to provide
insight knowledge of app development, widgets, and framework
with FLUTTER. This workshop will help in understanding the basics
of utter & dart and why is it important for app development on
15th Feb 2020.. The speaker of the event is Mr. Faizan Akhtar, CSE
4th yr Student (DSC LEAD).
Department of Computer Science and Engineering & I-Nurture
SET organised Training/Workshop on Ethical Hacking | 10th
February 2020.This Training/Workshop is intended to provide
basic abilities necessary to evaluate internal and external safety
threats against a network, to create security policies that will
safeguard the data of an organization & an individual.

Department of CSE, SET in association with DST, Govt. of India is


organised 3 days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp from 5th to
7th February 2020.The objective of this event is to enhance the
capabilities of students in the eld of Entrepreneurship

Department of Computer Science & Engineering, SET, conducted a


Research Group Expert talk on Innovative Research Seminar on
18th January 2020. It is an attempt to build up research aptitude
skills & avenues to which academicians & faculties will be
exploring on the new technology of Blockchain, Cryptocurrency,
IoT, etc. The speaker is Mr. Yash Sharma-Industry Research Expert.
Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SET, Technical
Society (Cyber Pirate) organised Training/Workshop on Cyber
Security on 10th January 2020. This Training/Workshop is intended
to provide basic abilities necessary to evaluate internal and
external safety threats against a network, to create security
policies that will safeguard the data of an organization & an

Industrial Visits

Industrial Visit to Cisco Networking Industrial visit at Network


Bulls, Gurugram, India | SET | 13th and 14th February, 2020.
Students will go through in-depth learning of Cisco
Networking and how networks work in the real industry. The
convenor of the event are Prof. (Dr.) Parma Nand, Dean, SET
and Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Rakesh -HoD, CSE.

Star Student Achievements

• A 24-hour Hackathon was organized by Unicept, Gurgaon on 4th February 2020 to build a path breaking solution for Education
and Ed Tech sectors with products/tools and apps to enhance learning, pedagogy, & instruction. In this event, Anupam Bhattarai
& Ayush Dhingra, from CSE department, won INR 20,000 for the given challenge. The given challenge was “Provide better early
childhood education, help college students learn new skills or re-skill people in the workforce. The possibilities are endless”.

• Our Technical Society has started Peer to Peer session for


students at Mandela hostel. Peer to peer learning class :: In
this class, the students teach and learn from each other. One
can watch their comprehension increase as they put course
concepts into their own words and relay their understanding
to classmates/junior/serinor in a collaborative, reciprocal
learning environment. There are 5 instructors & 22 students
who are taking classes every week. Class 1: Anupam

Ph.D. Awarded &Faculty Achievements

Dr. Latha Banda has successfully defended her PhD degree on


“Improve the quality of the Recommended System Using
Collabrative Taging” on 19 Feburary 2020 from JNU.
Dr. Amrita has successfully defended her Ph.D. degree on “An
Intelligent Ensemble Based System for Detecting and
Combatting Intrusion in Computer Network” on 9th December
2019 from Sharda University.
Dr. Mayank Goyal has successfully defended his PhD degree
on “Reduction of Forwarding nodes to reduce effect of
broadcast storm problem using network coding”, on 21
December, 2019 under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Satya
Prakash Ghera and Prof. (Dr.) JP Gupta from Jaypee University
of Information Technology.

Mr. Amit Upadhay and Mr. Sunil of Department of Computer


Science and Technology, SET are giving Classes for Gate
preparation to second year and third year students on all
Saturdays.
Department of Computer Science Engineering Department
celebrated Holi on 7th March, 2020 with great enthausim and zeal.

To me, mathematics, computer science, and the arts are insanely related.

(CFD) by Dr. Salim Mohamed Salim on 16th
January, 2020.
Objective of the Event:
The lecture will cover the vast applications of CFD in
the various engineering disciplines and how CFD
ts into the engineering design process including
the fundamental sciences: maths and physics. The
lecture will also cover Computational Fluid
Dynamics: Urban Air ow and Pollution Modelling
touching on the impacts, methods of investigations
and existing measurement challenges of air pollution in cities. This lecture will give the opportunity to the students to learn the
advantages of employing the CFD technique and its application in various areas.

Sourcing Show (IESS) held at Coimbatore from 5th March to 7th March, 2020.). IESS is the largest exhibition in the country of
engineering products, innovation and services to showcase the latest technologies and a preferred meeting place for global buyers
and sellers. More than 20 international companies, more the 400 Indian companies and leading Educational institutes participated
and showcased their products and services. This show is also important to encourage foreign investments in line with the newly-
initiated Make in India campaign by the Government of India. The Electric Bikes made by Sharda students were center of attraction

for all the participating organizations and visitors. The visitors were amazed to see the design aesthetics of Electric bikes and many
of them offered to purchase and asked about the showroom where they can get it. The local Ex. MLA Mr. S.P. Velumani also visited at
the Sharda University stall and motivated the students and their mentor by assuring help for commercially launching these bikes.
Many Organizations showed their interest to Collaborate with Sharda University and associate with innovative students.

their talent in Auto Expo, 2020 by designing an Electric Hybrid
Two Wheeler Vehicle. The design and the model attracted lot
of attention and appreciation from the visiting peers of
Automotive Industry as well as all other visitors.

• Students of Mechanical Engineering Department participated in SAE, Baja, 2020 in Chitkara University and won an award of
Rs.60,000/- as Best acceleration award.
