Hi! Good morning everyone and welcome to JC Channel,


a channel that will educate you! (pause) My name is
Joezerk Carpio and I’m a student of Western Mindanao
State University taking BS Mathematics. I am an official
student of Ma’am Susan Lim our instructor in CAS 101
which is Purposive Communication.
This video will help you determine or adjudicate of what
is an average person and who is an average person.
But first, let me ask you one question. Have you ever
been encountered an average person?
Well, if yes, let see if that person you are referring to is an
average person. (pause)
Intro2: (Video)
“What and who is an average person?”

In our daily life or daily living in this world we used to


encounter different people with different personality,
different believes and has different perspectives or
perceptions in life. Although this people or persona has
differences in life, we are all equal as a human being and
equal in the eyes of God. But then, we can
compartmentalize this people with differences in life
because there are two kinds of people in the world as we
perceive, successful people and those who are
unsuccessful. Moreover, there is a third kind which we
know as average person with different personality. It is
classified right in the middle. You can’t call them
successful because when they do get there, they will move
out of this category. And you can’t call them unsuccessful
because they are doing okay from their own perspective.
And by the way, based on my research they don’t like to
be called average. (pause)
There are 8 characteristics or attributes that an average
person has. (pause)
First is, average people are always busy. It is quoted by
Henry David Thoreau, “It is not enough to be busy. So are
the ants. The question is, what are we busy about?”. All
of us has only 24 hours every single day nothing more,
nothing less. But, average people seem to always have
less time than the things on their plate and yet, they aren’t
able to achieve much. They are always busy, like running
120 miles an hour getting nowhere. (pause)
Second is, average people claim they aren’t money
minded. A great example of this is when a group of
people is discussing about opportunities, challenges and
suddenly one member of the group said that, “I am not
that much money minded. If I need more, God will give
me more. Why waste time discussing these things?”.
Well, needless to say, that individual disrupted the
momentum and kind of stunned everybody. In fact, that
person’s words seemed so real, then some found believing
for a quite some time. (pause)
Third is, average people need frequent entertainment.
It is quoted by Confucius that, “Choose a job you love,
and you will never have to work a day in your life”.
Average people are always looking forward to the next
movie, the next potluck party or even the next live show
that will entertain themselves. They are tired after work.
They need to unwind themselves after day’s work. Why
does this happen? It’s because they don’t like what they
do and therefore, they don’t enjoy doing it. If they decide,
they can tweak their attitude, look at the rewards and may
be, start to enjoy. But they won’t. They have no intention
of making it interesting enough for themselves. (pause)
There are other characteristics that an average person has
and these are:
Average people want guarantees
Average people are driven by statistics
Average people have big plans but little action
Average people blame others
Average people don’t take responsibility (pause)
Therefore, I conclude that, the day anybody decides to be
responsible, to work hard, to stay disciplined is the day
that they separate themselves from the average. Average
people never achieve anything extraordinary because they
simply don’t take charge. (pause)
