SIP
Secure Intelligent Pulser
Service Manual
The new SIP features a number of improvements to the existing pulser, these include:
The SIP will replace the current production pulser for standard C+ and V meters, including higher flow
rates. For now, SIP will not be available for Ecometer or LPG meters.
With the introduction of SIP we also introduced new error codes (see current error code list, part of the
training material)
The serial number consists of the production date and the serial number. So, the price display shows
the 6-digit production date of the pulser (example: 022114 (month, day, year)) and the volume display
shows the 6-digit serial number of the pulser (example: 00123).
For the address setting open the rotary switch at the SIP. If more than one pulser is in the dispenser,
make sure that the other rotary switches are closed, to avoid double addressing.
Spare parts are currently delivered without a default address. After the installation of a spare part, the
new pulser has to be addressed, so that the CPU is able to identify this pulser and a default calibration
factor is set (see CC76.2).
Procedure
4. Input of the meter number between 1 and 12 (Explanation’s for the meter numbers are part of
the training files) - ENTER
With the address setting the calibration factor has already been set to a default value (if the value was
zero). Depending on the meter number this value has been set to a factor between 0,80001 and
0,80012.
After the calibration filling (for further information check also training file “Sandpiper Calibration by
Manager Keypad”) the factor will be set to approx. 0,72XXX.
The calibration factor is stored in the pulser and in the CPU Board. After an exchange of the SIP, the
meter has to be recalibrated. After an exchange of the CPU Board, the new CPU will automatically
copy the existing calibration factors from the SIP’s.
This parameter is the setup of the additional data memory (beside the CPU board). In dispensers with
SIP the additional data (config) will be stored in the display.
For a double sided or a single sided dispenser left the data will be saved in display 1.
For a single sided dispenser right the data will be saved in display 2.
After a display exchange the new display gets an automatic copy of the config from the CPU board.
After a CPU exchange the CPU gets an automatic copy of the config from the display board.
In any case we strongly recommended saving the data before a component exchange and
recover afterwards by using a laptop if necessary!
