HOW WE BEHAVE: Online ethics training

Below you will find a step-by-step guide for completing the training and FAQs.

Please email [email protected] with any questions or issues with the training.

Guide

1. Access the training through insideWPP

Once you have logged-on to insideWPP and followed this link, or clicked on the
Resources tab > Online training, you can access the training by scrolling scroll to the
bottom of the page and clicking on the purple button titled: How We Behave.

2. Select your language

Please note the training will only be available in English at launch. In the next few
months the training will be made available in the following languages:

• French
• Spanish
• German
• Russian
• Portuguese
• Hindi
• Standard Modern Arabic
• Mandarin Chinese

3. To start, first complete the ‘How we behave’ module

In order to unlock the rest of the training you need to first watch WPP’s Chief
Executive Officer, Mark Read’s, short introductory video, followed by three scenarios
focused on bias, bullying and harassment in the workplace:

a) Interview for internal promotion


b) Celebrating Laura’s Promotion
c) Asking for help

During each scenario you will be asked to assess your comfort level based on what
you have just watched. Use the slider to select your answer from one (very
comfortable) to five (very uncomfortable).

You will then be asked what you would do if you were in the position of one of the
characters, before seeing the actual outcome. At the end of each scenario you will
hear a WPP expert reflect on the scenario and the best course of action.
At the end of the module, you will hear from WPP’s Chief People Officer, Jacqui
Canney, on fostering respectful cultures at work where people feel comfortable to
speak up.

4. Once you have completed the ‘How we behave’ module you can then
complete the three remaining modules in any order

Business integrity

The Business integrity module includes a short introductory video from WPP’s Chief
Operating Officer, Andrew Scott, on the importance of acting with integrity in
everything we do.

The module also includes:


- Animated video to explain rules and regulation around anti-bribery and
corruption
- Three animated scenarios focusing on client relationships: ‘Pitch Perfect?’,
‘Working with government clients’ and ‘Laws of a launch’, with judgement
questions throughout
- Rules around tax evasion, consequences and examples, followed by a short
quiz

Safer data

The Safer data module includes an introductory video from WPP’s Chief Technology
Officer, Stephan Pretorius, about data within the context of WPP as a creative
transformation company.

The module also includes:


- Information around the different types of data, data protection and the data
lifecycle followed by a short quiz
- Information around client contracts, a short video from WPP’s CTO, Data and
Product, Niel Bornman
- A safer data quiz where users will be asked to identify data security risks.
Users need to answer all three questions correctly to successfully complete
the quiz

Sustainability

The Sustainability module includes an introductory video from WPP’s Chief Growth &
Marketing Officer, Laurent Ezekiel, on our sustainability impact.

This is followed by further information on what we are doing to address our impact
and how you can help.

FAQs

1. How can I access the training?

You can access the training by logging in to insideWPP and following this link or
clicking on the Resources tab > Online training.

2. Who do I get in touch with if I have an issue / am struggling to complete the


training?

Please email [email protected] with any questions or issues with the training.

3. I can’t select another language other than English, why not?

Please note the training will only be available in English at launch (June 2020). In the
next few months the training will be made available in the following languages:

• French
• Spanish
• German
• Russian
• Portuguese
• Hindi
• Standard Modern Arabic
• Mandarin Chinese

4. How long do I have to complete the training?

You have six weeks to complete the training from 15 June.

5. I’m a freelancer, do I still have to take the training?

Freelancers working for more than 4 weeks will be required to complete the training.

6. Will I receive notifications to remind me to complete the training?

Yes, you will receive email reminders every 2 weeks.

7. How much time should I set aside to complete the training?

The total time to complete the training is approximately 1 hours.

You can save your progress, log-off and log back in to complete it in different setting,
as long as you finish it within six weeks from starting.

8. What resources are available to me and how do I access them?

Resources for each of the modules are available at any time by selecting the
Resources icon on the top right of your screen.

These include links to different sections on insideWPP with more detailed


information and downloadable PDFs of WPP’s Annual Report and Sustainability
Report.

9. My audio is not working / I have hearing difficulties, can I still watch the
videos?

You can enable subtitles by clicking on the CC icon on the bottom left hand corner of
the video. There is also a transcript available underneath the video.

10. I started the training but don’t have time to complete it, can I pause it and
pick up later where I left off?

Yes, you can save your progress, log-off and log back in to complete it at a later
date, as long as you finish it within six weeks from starting.

11. Can I see how much I have left of the training to complete?

Yes, there is an energy bar at the top of the home page which shows you how much
(%) progress you have made and how much you have left.

12. Will I receive a certificate upon completion to prove I’ve completed the
training?

No, there will be no certificate but your People (HR) team will have it on record to
confirm you have completed the training.

13. I am moving roles within WPP but to a different agency, do I still need to
re-take the training?

No, if you move from one company to another within WPP, you are not required to
re-take the training courses.

Please ask your current People team to provide your new People team with written
confirmation that you have completed the training.
