A Happy Woman
Ana has a lot of hobbies and interests. She is
very organized especially on the things she does. She usually
gets up early during weekends so she can clean the house and
finish other household chores. After doing all her household
chores, she walks and jogs on the park near to her place. It’s the
reason why she maintains her good health and posture. In the
afternoon she cooks her lunch. Cooking is her passion and she
always sees to it that she does it on weekends. She doesn't often
have time to watch a movie, but she occasionally goes on
Saturdays during her off at work. Ana loves music. She always
goes to choir practice on Saturday evenings and sings in church
on Sundays. She seldom watches TV because she likes doing
things outside. She usually goes to the gym if it's raining outside
on Sundays after attending mass. On weekdays she gets up
early too to prepare for work. She enjoys all her chores in spite of her busy

Resilient Filipinos
Filipino resiliency and “bayanihan” spirit
were once tested on the recent Taal volcanic
eruption. The unwavering support of fellow
Filipinos to all the victims made the tough

historical eruptions since 1572, all of which were concentrated on Volcano Island,
near the middle of Taal Lake. There have been 33 recorded eruptions at Taal since

Suddenly, residents of Batangas and Tagaytay were surprised at its sudden
eruption last January 12, 2020. The PHIVOLCS raised its alarm to level 4. Classes
in Metro Manila were affected due to the ashes coming from the eruption.
The sudden eruption of Taal destroyed the lives and properties especially
those near the place. Force evacuation was done. Some cities and municipalities

Getting It Right
Rapid population growth (RPG) is a serious problem. To address this
problem, the Philippine government created the Commission otherwise known as
POPCOM or The Commission on Population and Development. Its goal is to reduce
the current high population growth rate to help families maintain certain ideal
standards of living.

the problem in the increase of teenage pregnancy around the country. POPCOM
recently reinforced this fact that point to moral decadence as the reason for the rise
in the numbers of girls who gave birth, particularly those as young as 10 years old.
The sudden increase of teenage pregnancy is also attributed to the lack of
guidance of parents to their teenage children. Proper sex education is also an issue
in high school. Moreover, the easy access of teenagers to social media and
exposure to sexually explicit content on the internet.
To address this alarming problem, the government created policy and
program interventions that will address the issue. Religious organizations can also
help through morals and values formation to influence the decision making of
adolescents. In general, this requires interagency and multi-sectoral collaboration
