TASK PERFORMANCE

Instructions:

1. You are tasked to form a group with four (4) to five (5) members and create a five-minute commentary
presentation about the different popular culture icons here in the Philippines.
2. Each group must select one (1) medium of popular culture discussed in the Pre-Final lesson, 05
Popular Culture and the Media:
a. Printed Media
b. Radio and Music
c. Audiovisual Media
d. Advertising and Branding
e. Popular Language
f. Online Popular Culture
3. Each member should participate in the commentary, discussing the various aspects of a popular
culture exclusive in the country. For reference, you can scan the QR code beside the rubric. The list of
popular culture aspects can be found below.
a. Printed Media – art styles, news writing and delivery, cliché genres in novels and stories
b. Radio and Music – famous genres in OPM, song meanings, tropes of local radio shows
c. Audiovisual Media – cliché tropes of television shows and movies
d. Advertising and Branding – cliché tropes of local commercials, outrageous commercials
e. Popular Language – the adoption of words, the gradual decline of certain words
f. Online Popular Culture – popular people, viral trends, viral videos, public scandals
4. The commentary should contain a maximum of four (4) examples of popular culture icons in the
chosen medium. Profanity in language is expressly prohibited.
5. The presentation shall be graded using the rubric shown.
