has flourished into civilization. Our innovation shaped the world into a technology
centered economy. Although these innovations greatly helped the humanity as an
individual, the adverse effect of it towards nature is greatly devastating in the long-term
basis. Humanity’s idleness will become their own undoing in the face of these
overwhelming circumstances. Among those environmental problems, these are some of
the most destructive:
1. Climate change has been felt ever since mankind relied on fossil fuels in order to
make their lives easier. The economic value nowadays in some country depends
on the fossil fuel’s amount in order to function coherently. As such, because
countries depended on fossil fuels so much, it is required in a large quantity that
factories kept on manufacturing. The smoke of these factories emits tons of
carbons causing greenhouse gases which traps the sun’s light from leaving the
ozone layer. As a result, the earth is getting warmer which prompts the changes
of temperature.
2. Energy pollution is one of the causes of greenhouse effect. With people abusing
energy consumption, to the point that nature cannot recuperate with the damage
that has already been dealt. Most energy pollution is linked to burning of fossil
fuels.
3. Water pollution is one of the most rampant issues of environment we’re facing.
We see unresponsible solid waste management’s result gunk up our bodies of
water causing different diseases and damaging the water’s ecosystem.
4. Biodiversity and Land Use is one of the leading causes of deforestation
destroying the ecosystem. Because of overpopulation, humans need to mow
down lush forest in order to make way for land development. This causes
different types of disasters which will haunt down humans in the long run.
5. Chemicals, Toxics and heavy metals are some of the most harmful types of
minerals that humans are utilizing. These minerals cause irreversible damage
even at short term of exposure.
6. Air pollution is the accumulation of the toxic substances in the air causing health
effects to those who inhales it. These toxic gases are suspended as particles in
the air causing pollution.
7. Waste Management in terms of being unresponsible, causes large scale
problems which we are facing nowadays. Water pollution, land pollution, flash
floods are one of those problems.
8. Ozone layer depletion is the cause of greenhouse gases accumulation. It
destroys the ozone layer which protects us from the ultraviolet rays of the sun.
We are currently experiencing global warming due to ozone depletion.
9. Oceans and fisheries and other minerals in the oceans being abused by
overconsumption destroys the ocean’s ecosystem causing mass extinction ang
endangerment of species which are endemic in the ocean.
10. Deforestation is one of the leading causes of many catastrophes we
encountered. Intense typhoons ravaging cities, flash floods drowning civilizations,
land slide burying lives under the earth are one of those catastrophic events. The
trees of the forest protected us from the maws of death from those catastrophic
events.
Our mother earth is now in retaliation of our unresponsible deeds. By being fully
disciplined, eradicate these threats. The main solution in the end is if we coexist with
nature, we avert our own extinction event. I myself must do my own part as an
inhabitant of this world. We must take responsibility of our own actions and began
anew.
