SEMI DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 1

I. OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the lesson the learners will be able to:

 Define and Identify what is verb or action verb;


 Determine the use of action words in a sentence and
 Students will respect each other by giving ideas to complete the activity.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Action Verb

Materials: Pictures, website, PowerPoint presentation

III. PROCEDURE

A. Preparation

1. Greetings
2. Prayer
3. Recording students absent from class
4. Drill
Students will sing the song “Hello, hello, hello” with a smile and excitement.

5. Review:
 What’s our topic that we tackled yesterday?
 What is Verb?

B. MOTIVATION

The teacher will show pictures related to the action verb and then the teacher will
have questions related to the pictures

 What do you think children’s doing in the picture?

 How about in this picture?


C. PRESENTATION

ACTION VERBS
 An action verb describes an action that a person, animal, object, or process in nature
can do.
 An action verb tells what the subject of our sentence is doing.
 Action verbs can be used to express physical or mental actions.
Example: Lana, Cal and Eli are jumping.
Example: The kangaroo is jumping.

Example: It’s raining outside the house.


Example: The ball is rolling.

The teacher will play the video about action verb and after the video teacher will ask a
question to students
D. ENRICHMENT
 In the video you’ve watched what it is all about?
 Give me one of the actions you’ve watched in the video.
 In the video who are doing the actions?
 Who or what else action verb can do except to a person?
 Do you think action verb can express physical or mental actions?

E. GENERALIZATION

In this activity teacher prepared a play for students a “What can do?”. Worldwall.net is the
website teacher used for the activity. In this activity students will connect the missing words
to the correct action verb.
 In the first word, monkey. What monkey can do? Let’s match the monkey on what
action he/she can do.
 Second word is the elephant, what elephant can do?
 Third one is the flamingo, what flamingo can do?
 Fourth is the fish, what fish can do?
 How about the bird? What bird can do?
 Let’s move on to next one the cheetah, what cheetah can do?
 How about the babies, what babies can do?
 Next one is the children, what do you think children can do?
 Let’s move on to rabbit, what rabbit can do?
 The last one was the frog, what do you think the frog can do?

IV. EVALUATION

Direction: In this activity read carefully the sentence and circle the action words you
will see.
B. Direction: Match the action to words.
V. ASSIGNMENT

Direction: In this activity, list down the actions each member of your family do, it
includes your actions too. Copy the table below according to your family member.
