What is the future tense?
The future tense is a verb tense used to talk about
something that will happen or will be true in the
future, without indicating a specific point in time.
The time frame could be interpreted as something
happening in the immediate future, or something
that will happen in years, even decades.
Uses of the Simple Future
While the simplest future is most often used to talk about what a
person will do, it can also be used to talk about conjecture,
possibilities, and probabilities in the present, make predictions
about the future, and give solemn commands.
1. Conjectures, Possibilities, and Probabilities
Luna estará en la playa ahora.
Mañana te sentirás mejor.
2. Predictions about the Future
Llegaremos a Marte en el año 2050.
Me casaré con un hombre guapo.
3. Solemn Commands
No robarás.
Obedecerás a tus abuelos.

regular verbs YO -É
In English we can form the future tense
by putting will or its shortened form TÚ -ÁS
’ll before the verb. In Spanish you have
ÉL/ELLA/USTED -Á
to change the verb endings. So, just as
hablo means I speak, hablaré means I
NOSOTROS -EMOS
will speak or I shall speak.
To form the future tense of regular -ar, VOSOTROS -ÉIS
-er and -ir verbs, add the following
USTEDES/ELLOS/
endings to the infinitive of the verb: -é, -ÁN
ELLAS
-ás, -á, -emos, -éis, -án.
