1. Process Background:

The deaerator removes dissolved and entrained atmospheric air, carbon dioxide, other gases,
and volatile organic carbon (VOC) from incoming feed water. Manual Vent releases the non-
condensable gases with limited amount of steam to the atmosphere on a continuous basis.

The de-aerated water flows from the de-aeration section to the storage vessel and is available
as boiler feed water at normal temperature of 115 ºC and maximum temperature of 120 ºC
corresponding to the steam pressure (1 bar g) in the deaerator.

Steam condensate from the LLP Condensate Flash Drum T-1033 operating at 1 bar g. and
cold Demin make up water are fed to Deaerator through separate nozzles. Deaerator will be
started with cold makeup water at 30 degC.

Bottom storage vessel of the deaerator is sized for 30 minutes hold up for normal operation
between LLL- HLL and 15 minutes hold up between LLL-NLL. The Turndown ratio is 55% of
the normal flowrate.

The start-up operation is considered with 100% Demin water.

3. Boiler Feed Water Specification:

Vendor shall guarantee that Deaerator shall meet below requirement in all operating
conditions:
I. Dissolved oxygen content in the treated water will not exceed 7 ppb (without
oxygen scavenger addition) - Design case
II. Dissolved oxygen content in the treated water will not exceed 20 ppb (without
oxygen scavenger addition) - normal operating case

The venting of gases from the top of the deaerator is adjusted during operation taking into
/ 3. account process experience and CO2 content analyses of BFW. Vendor shall ensure the

same and check/confirm the requirement of vent condenser.


4. The BFW outlet to the boiler feed water pumps shall be designed in such way to
prevent vortexing, to prevent steam bubbles and sludge being drawn into the suction
line.
5. The boiler feed water from the Deaerator is used: to generate HP steam at 41.7 barg in
the steam generation unit of the Fired Heater
6. The unit shall be properly sized for any operation case including start-up,
turndown, shutdown, etc.
7. The deaerator and the storage section shall be designed as an integral unit.
8. Vendor shall specify the expected and guaranteed performance of the BFW
Deaeration System. The guaranteed performance shall be at least equal to the BFW
Specification reported in the section 3.0 for all operating range
9. Maximum allowable Pressure Drop through Internals 0.1 bar (Add to Top Pressure,
to have Bottom Pressure)
10. Number of manways is to be confirmed based on mechanical design.
11. Vendor shall specify the equipment design details (dimensions) and individual stream
data in the Deaeration system. Vendor shall provide detail drawing showing all necessary
internals and nozzle details.
12. Vendor to specify normal and maximum utility consumptions and chemical requirements.
13. Vendor to refer below site meteorological data:

14. All Carbon steel components used in this package shall be suitable for low MDMT of
- 36 ºC. Supplier to select suitable low temperature grade material or carbon steel shall be
suitably qualified for low MDMT.
15. All the instruments required for meeting the performance guarantee to be considered
by vendor.
16. Reported LP Steam operating pressure is at upstream of pressure control valve PV-8032
which is provided on the LP Steam inlet line to Deaerator. Vendor to confirm the required
LP Steam pressure for deaerator operation.
17. Reported Demin water pressure is at upstream of flow control valve FV-8007 which is on
the Demin water inlet line to Deaerator. Vendor to confirm required Demin water

23. Steam coil of 1" diameter and 100 mm pitch between coil turns to be used for
tracing. (HOLD 3).
24. Steam coil to slope from inlet towards outlet to avoid accumulation of condensate to avoid
corrosion issues.
