RATIONALE:
What are the mandates of legal (RA, Order, or Memo) basis of the activity?
As mandated for the implementation of RA No. 10533 or the Basic Education
Act of 2013 that pertains to the policy on the “Learning Action Cell as K-12 Basic
Education Program School-Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy
for Improvement of Teaching and Learning the school prepared a LAC session to
empower and uplift the teachers’ potential for the full implementation of teaching
using the explicit way.
Explicit, or direct instruction, is a teacher-led teaching method wherein
teacher gives clear, guided instructions to learners in front of the classroom. At
this time that there is only a limited time for lesson delivery due to the current
situation, it is a must that maximizing the time in teaching should be practiced.
The explicit teaching strategy is a tool so that lesson will be given in full to make
it clearer for the learners.

Why this activity needs to be conducted? What are the situations,


problems, issues you wanted to resolve?
At this point in time that the learners struggled on the acquisition of the basic
skills in different learning areas, direct instruction is one among the different
strategies that will be very useful in effective lesson delivery. Equip the teachers
with proper implementation as well as the process how the explicit teaching
should be done is the main objective why the LAC session in this topic will be
conducted.
