With the transition in the educational system brought about by the pandemic; a shift in the
teaching and learning practices are also apparent. Different learning modalities were mapped-
out in lieu of the normal classroom set up to continuously provide quality access to education.
Teachers of Bariw National High School, LAC Team C continue to uphold their commitment in
addressing the learners’ needs.
The team organized an interactive School Learning Action Cell Session (SLAC) on “Blended
Learning” dated March 29, 2022 through face to face at the Senior High School Building after
the SLAC Proposal was approved and preparations had been made. Since this Blended
Learning Approach is new to the system, the teachers conducted a training to fully equipped
themselves with necessary competencies in implementing this method.
The training practically tackles key features on Blended Learning adjustments, alignment of
learning materials, various modalities of delivery methods of assessment and evaluation. The
schedule of conducting LAC in the school was set and made possible because of the
collaboration of the Senior High School Teachers and teachers from MAPEH and ESP in the
Junior High School. It started with the orientation headed by the Senior High School discussant
Mrs. Lorrie Ivy C. Gabito at exactly 1:00 in the afternoon, with attendees both from the Senior
High School and MAPEH/ESP Department in the Junior High school.
After the roll call of attendees and giving of house rules, Ma’am Lorrie Ivy Gabito presented the
purpose of the orientation and the course objectives. To motivate the participants, the facilitator
had started her session with a game and the session proper continued as she discussed the
“Blended Learning Framework” for teachers and school leaders. Based from the framework, the
Blended Learning Approach will be implemented as the new normal method. It includes the
designs/implementation principles and guidelines, programs, internal and external learning
service providers.
After which, a forum was held. After the clearing of ideas, the participants had worked on their
individual output by answering the reflective questions.
With the assistance of the facilitator, the LAC participants were able to comply with the needed
output required for the day. The session concluded as the participants submitted the required
output.
