Project Proposal-GROUP 1-BSHM 2B
Project Proposal-GROUP 1-BSHM 2B
One common problem in our community is food. Almost everyone in the Philippines is
hungry or on the verge of starvation. This has an effect on us and most importantly on the
development of the children. There are around 6 million malnourished children in the
Philippines. Every foundation, organization, individual, and government has contributed. We
may start a program to help others with this issue.
Feeding programs are frequently held in schools where the target beneficiaries are
children who are suffering from malnutrition or don’t have a proper food intake. They are also
labeled as skinny, underweight, weak, and the list goes on. Calling you these names will hurt
your feelings and can cause a huge damage to your interpersonal skills and emotional
development. It can also lead to avoidance, not feeling comfortable around everyone because
you would constantly expect them to make fun of your body. These are just some of the
effects on those individuals who are suffering from malnutrition. Even adults can relate to this.
That is why some schools are organizing feeding programs to empower children by providing
sufficient nourishment, allowing them to carry on with their daily lives and become more
responsible students, ultimately allowing them to strive for a brighter future. Finally, the
advantages of feeding programs go beyond providing children with nutritional meals. Having
good nutrition can confer you lots of benefits.
B. Rationale
Food is a basic necessity that struggling people fail to consume three times a day.
The problem primarily affects those who live in highly underdeveloped areas that lack the
means to provide. Lack of food leads to undernutrition in these areas. According to WHO
Around 45% of deaths among children under 5 years of age are linked to undernutrition.
These mostly occur in low- and middle-income countries.
This project proposal prioritizes tackling the issue of undernutrition and providing food
to these areas. Our food program titled "Eat well, feel well, and look well!" will allow us to
provide food to Phase 4 Milagrosa residents, ensuring that at least 1 meal will be provided for
today. Thus, it takes the burden of finding resources to provide food for a day off their backs
and leaves them with more budget for their next meal. The program will be offered to 100
people of Phase 4 Milagrosa.
