Executive summary
In the early and middle parts of the 20th century, low-cost opaque
projectors were produced and marketed as a toy for children. The light
source in early opaque projectors was often limelight,
with incandescent light bulbs and halogen lamps taking over later.
Episcopes are still marketed as artists’ enlargement tools to allow
images to be traced on surfaces such as prepared canvas.
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, overhead projectors began to be
widely used in schools and businesses. The first overhead projector
was used for police identification work. It used a celluloid roll over a
9-inch stage allowing facial characteristics to be rolled across the
stage. The United States military in 1940 was the first to use it in
quantity for training.
In this project we have talked all about the new innovative idea of
installing a “projector in today’s laptop”. This Project is all about a
new innovative idea of building a projector in laptop. A detailed
introduction is provided with covering of various industry profile.
What can be the objective and the scope which has been provided by
this new feature is discussed with a detailed description of the idea. A
s.w.o.t analysis is done to know the pros and cons of the idea. How
this idea of having a projector in laptops is related with the 4 c’s of
marketing is also been discussed and a conclusion is given.

All about projector
So the big event is tomorrow and you just find out your client
neglected to mention they need an LCD projector to display there
PowerPoint slide shows.
You think, "this should not be that hard." You call a few local AV
companies and are bombarded with questions by the AV rep who
appears to be talking in tongues; From Lumens, Resolutions, Aspect
Ratios to Throw Distance and Front or Rear Projection.
Now that this AV guy has you feeling less than intelligent you try not
to sound too defensive and say, "just bring me a regular projector.
" When the "regular" projector arrives and your client arrives also,
with his Mac laptop you discover the Mac needs an adapter and the
PowerPoint has high definition videos that look horrible through the
"regular" projector. If this world is still a bit of a mystery let's venture
into the ins and outs of projectors.

Industry Profile
Industry insights
The global laptop market size was valued at USD 101.67 billion in
2017. It is estimated to expand at a CAGR of 0.4% during the forecast
period. In terms of volume, the market is anticipated to register a
CAGR of 1.0% during the same period. Growing internet penetration,
rising disposable incomes, swelling global population, and increasing
awareness among consumers about emergence of novel technologies
are among the primary growth stimulants for the market.
A number of consumers these days prefer cross-functional devices
that offer integrated features and capabilities in the same device. This
has encouraged the development of multifunctional devices. Laptops
offer extensive diversity in their application areas, ranging from
business and education to entertainment. Furthermore, high
investments, availability of economical devices due to mass
production, and a range of diverse applications are projected to
provide a fillip to the market.

Global laptop market revenue share
Business laptops have a rugged design, wide-screen displays, superior
graphics, faster processors, and enhanced connectivity options. They
are reasonably priced and have a long lifespan. Owing to these
factors, business types counted for the leading share in the market in
2017.

Good Optics
"Optics" refers to the set of mirrors, filters and lenses that transfer
the image from within the projector to the screen. The same way that
a cheap pair of binoculars can create an ugly view, poor optics
within a projector can render blurry or dull images. For example,
optics can distort the image, turning straight lines into curves and
making sharp edges rough and indistinct. The larger the room and
the greater the size of the image, the worse the problems of bad
optics. Most projectors have good optics. You can make a quick
check by projecting a grid of lines and seeing if they look sharp and
straight.

Shadow play
The earliest projection of images was most likely done in
primitive shadowgraphy dating back to prehistory. Shadow play
usually does not involve a projection device, but can be seen as a first
step in the development of projectors. It evolved into more refined
forms of shadow puppetry in Asia, where it has a long history in
Indonesia (records relating to Wayang since 840 CE), Malaysia,
Thailand, Cambodia, China (records since around 1000 CE), India
and Nepal.
Revolving lanterns
Revolving lanterns have been known in China as "trotting horse
lamps" since before 1000 CE. A trotting horse lamp is a hexagonal,
cubical or round lantern which on the inside has cut-out silhouettes
attached to a shaft with a paper vane impeller on top, rotated by
heated air rising from a lamp. The silhouettes are projected on the thin
paper sides of the lantern and appear to chase each other. Some
versions showed some extra motion in the heads, feet and/or hands of
figures by connecting them with a fine iron wire to an extra inner
layer that would be triggered by a transversely connected iron
wire. The lamp would typically show images of horses and horse-
riders.

S.w.o.t analysis
Strength
Having an inbuilt projectors in laptop will ofcourse help develop in
the strength of the laptop and laptop market as well as the projectors
market.
With the touch of some buttons people will be able to project image,
video from the laptop.

Weakness
Although not much of the weakness in this idea but it still there are
some points which needs to be considered which is;
1.It sometimes can get a little tricky how to operate or how to get the
projector work in the laptop.
Opportunity

Threat
It may some time get a little tricky about how to use the inbuilt
projector in laptop.
For some people it can get a little costly as may be some can not
afford it.

4c’s Relevance
Consumer
This idea’s relevancy with the consumer is that this will be ultimately
beneficial to the consumer.
There will be no rocket science for the consumer for operating the
laptop’s projector.
The product must be something that the customer finds desirable and
there must be something unique about it that sets it apart from all the
rest of the competition

Convenience
While place from the 4P model took into account the traditional value
chain involved in getting a product into a customer’s hand, the
convenience variable considers much more.
Various different benefits are there for the consumer . with the
increase in technology development it is getting more convenient
for the consumer to buy products and use them.

Conclusion
So, after knowing about both laptop and projector and after doing the
complete analysis of the idea of having an inbuilt projector in the
laptop we conclude that it is a great idea, a well versed idea if this is
ever implemented than it will a progress in the field of technology.
