V. Rationale:

The career in teaching requires people who have conviction to nurture


young minds and mold them into something great. Since time immemorial
the profession of teaching has been considered as one of the noblest
professions. Facilitators have always played the role of catalysts for
various social changes whatever the time and situations maybe.

The highest officials in the DepEd assures that in this time of


pandemic, every educator will be equipped by the needed/necessary
knowledge and skills for him/her to perform his/her profession …
teaching.

In lined with this, training/seminars were provided with the different


platform used, led by the agency requiring us educators to actively join
and participate for our professional development and growth, for us to be
updated on whatever latest trends needed in performing our duties…
educating learners, social obligations to co-workers in this time of
pandemic.

VI. Objectives

At the end of the SLAC, the participants should be able to:

- familiarize the different effective strategies in teaching Science;


- value the importance of the strategies in giving quality basic
education;and,
- foster development among teachers through sessions that address
their professional needs in teaching science.

ICT Coordinator, primary and intermediate teacher representatives)

IV. Rationale:

The Office of the Information and Communication Technology Service and


Human Resource Development Section of Schools Division office I Pangasinan
with Open Educational Resources-Pangasinan I has developed training design
on the Use and Curation of Open Educational Resources (OER) for every
teacher of SDO1 Pangasinan as well as the school heads and school department
heads.

OERs help Philippine education to improve across the country. Teachers and
learners anywhere in the country can access OERs at anytime. The use of OER
instead of traditional textbooks can substantially reduce the cost of educational
materials for learners. OERs can supplement textbooks and lectures where
deficiencies in information are evident.

This workshop will introduce the capabilities, functionalities and advantages


of using OER as a powerful tool to support offline eLearning event without
internet connectivity. This further supports the Digital Rise Program which
ensures the delivery of quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating education by
bridging the digital gap. Likewise, the participants will undergo a capacity building
program to be OER volunteers of the department spearheading this innovation in
their respective schools and further support the Last Mile Schools.

V. Project Objectives:
1. Demonstrate the latest methods and approaches in educational technology;
2. Engages the teachers to explore the utilization of learning software and
technological tools in transforming the classroom as an avenue of redefined
meaningful experiences in harnessing the 21st Century Skills of learners;
3. Discuss technological innovations and strategies that help improve the
teaching-learning process; and
4. Capacitate ICT Coordinators and Teachers on the use of
